Between desert and the Persian Gulf, Al Khobar is one of 3 neighboring cities at the heart of the global oil industry. Dammam is the largest and has a huge port, while Dhahran houses a huge mall and the headquarters of Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil company. The Ghawar Field, the world’s largest oil field, is southwest and there are smaller fields closer to the cities.

Given their international importance, these cities have a large expat community and a host of world-renowned brands of shops, hotels and restaurants. Many are along the waterfront Corniche, one of Saudi Arabia’s most visited spots outside Mecca and Medina.

Lining the western edge of Al Khobar (or Al Khubar), this promenade passes palm-lined parks, a white mosque jutting into the sea, and a futuristic-looking water tower on a small island. The Corniche also backs sandy beaches with warm waters, though the best beaches are in Half Moon Bay.

This affluent city has no shortage of shops and popular Al Rashid Mall includes a children’s amusement area. The Giant Stores are also worth a look, even if just to see the gigantic shopping cart out front.

    Everything is accessable restaurant, malls groceries, park. Try to visit Ramaniya Center there is Filipino products and restaurants. I went also to I love ❤️ Al Khobar the views is very relaxing you can do walking and jogging, you can also ride a bike. And put a cloth in the grass and do picnic. The beach also is so nice and the place is very clean and safe. Everything is in Khobar branded shoes, bags, perfumes and clothes. You can also ride a bus around Al Khobar for 3Sar only.

    Al Khobar is a relaxing, chaos-free alternative to Dammam.

    Al Khobar is a relaxing, chaos-free alternative to Dammam. Sea views are lovely. Uber and Careem work fine there. Train service to Riyadh is an alternative to the overpriced local airport that is quite far from town. Interesting restaurant or takeaway option is Chefs Taste.

I enjoyed fresh seafood at local restaurants, which was simply delicious. There’s also a variety of international cuisines, reflecting the city’s diverse and cosmopolitan vibe. Shopping was a pleasure too, especially at places like Al Rashid Mall and the bustling Al Khobar Souk, where you can find everything from traditional crafts to modern fashion. The infrastructure in Al Khobar is impressive—luxurious hotels, modern shopping centers, and friendly people who genuinely make you feel welcome. It’s easy to get around, and the city’s strategic location makes it a great base for exploring nearby Dammam and Dhahran. Plus, the natural surroundings, including parks and nearby beaches like Half Moon Bay, offer plenty of outdoor activities. Overall, Al Khobar is a city that offers a perfect blend of relaxation, cultural richness, and modern amenities. I left with wonderful memories and a strong desire to return.     The front desk staff is warm and welcoming, and the room and facilities offer good value for the money. The location is fantastic, and there is plenty of parking available. While there were a few minor issues, such as a broken light bulb and bathroom fixtures, they were promptly addressed. It's also helpful to bring extra extension cords if you're here for a business trip.

    The studio was of very good size and very well equiped. It had all the required untensils and even had dishwashing liquid and sponge - something which I have never seen in any such serviced apart hotels. Staff was v nice and housekeeping service was great. It is very near the cornice and many resturants. Taxis are not expensive in Al Khobar so thats a good mode of transportation . View from the room was great

    Hotel is in perfect location at Al Khobar downtown. We had spacious rooms, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and there was enough to choose. Hotel has a pool on ground floor and during our visit not crowded. Thank sfor reception staff who allowed us later check out. Thanks a lot & would stay again!
