The Tolmin Gorge is an absolute must do. We also climbed the hill up to the Kozlov Rob castle, but a portion of the castle was blocked off, which was a disappointment. A much better use of our time would have been to drive up sooner to Kolovrat Museum of the First World War; which isn't a museum, but a fascinating preservation of WW 1 bunkers and some of the most spectacular views of mountains and sea you will experience while in Slovenia. A beautiful quaint town on the Soca Vaey.
A beautiful quaint town on the Soca Vaey. Loads of swimming spots along the river, and a place to rent kayaks, sups etc at the dam. I recommend travveling along the river, up to Gabrje and further for more beautiful river locations. We stayed just outside of town, which I recommend if you have your own transport. Tolmin is heaven on earth.
Tolmin is heaven on earth. Especially in the festival season in the town. The rivers Tolminka and Soca meet, and it's the perfect cooling down in the hot hot heat (it was 32 degrees Celsius). The surrounding area is Slovene Alps at its best with countless activities from biking, paragliding, mountain climbing and canyoning. It has one of the best festivals in Slovenia every summer, and it's a must visit.Guest review byMatejaGermany

I could happily visit here with my wife in the car for a quiet break but also visit here with my biker pals on our motorbikes. Clean and homely facilities in a house nestled into the hills and mountains of Slovenia. The hosts are happy to allow us to park our bikes in their large barn which is attached to the guest house along side their own motorbikes.
