Stay away from the main town part if you want some quiet.
Stay away from the main town part if you want some quiet. It's over commercialized, and touristy. The resorts are overpriced for their services and amenities. However we loved Long Beach. It was a beautiful beach. If you like tea, I recommend you bring it from home. It's very hard to find good black tea in Thailand. When I stepped off the ferry, I was in absolutely awe, and immediately fell in love. It's a beautiful, small island, still packed with bars, restaurants and shops. I only stayed one night and I think 2 nights would have been enough. I did the phi phi viewpoint hike, which was killer, especially in the heat. It did get crowded for sunset, so grab your pictures before the crowd arrives. You can walk everywhere, no transport on the island as not needed. I ate at the pirate bar/restaurant, great beach view seating. I also ate at a little cafe near my accommodation, but can't remember the name......Guest review byLacyAustralia - 8.0

Booking through the resort to collect at airport and transfer to boat was a good choice to make ensuring transition was easy - just had to wait a bit in between and that was my mistake - a later flight would have spent less time for the boat as leaves only twice a day - so if one works this detail in - would be perfectGuest review byRibnick

There are a lot of stairs but the hosts are very helpful and took up our luggage. They met us at the pier and took the luggage in a trolley along the pedestrian streets and then up the stairs to the room. The last day again they took the luggage to the pier.
