our family of 4 , parents and two early twenty daughters loved the island . We loved that is was very authentic. No Starbuck and no mc Donald. All very typical Turkish. It gets busy in the weekend but lovely during the week. Good to get around by bus or bikes. It is not an island for beach lover but plenty (expensive) beach clubs or places where you can go into the sea. beautiful and green . Lovely place to escape to when you want to get away from the...
Lovely place to escape to when you want to get away from the madness of Istanbul. It has a lot of derelict but gorgeous buildings, a lot of history, beautiful mansions and buildings and is just a cute lil place to go for a walk or ride a bike. As a small island, it's possible to get around the whole place by bike in a couple of hours. There are a lot of beaches, but most of them require payment. Adalar is a great place to unwind.
Adalar is a great place to unwind. Having said that, there are frequent boats into Istanbul (and other islands) if you want some more activity/sightseeing etc. Chilled experience - we ate in various places in town. I'd probably avoid those overlooking the sea ... places in the streets behind are less touristy, better value and generally provide a nicer experience. There are good buses, although we walked everywhere - and there are loads of places to hire bicycles.
