Kas is a great base for exploring the area and either living extravagantly or on a budget. Lots of active options - sailing, kayaking, hiking, canyoning, etc, but also beaches. SCUBA diving for the Med is good - lots of wrecks and come interesting geography -, but no coral and limited fish. There are a wide range of restaurants. However I found the Turkish restaurant menus almost identical. If you stay in the city, walking is easy and efficient. Parking is horrible and public transportation virtually non-existent. Big Pebble Beach and the Mermaid Restaurant, right on the edge of the water, sunbeds and parasols, great food and drink service with humour and Turkish home made foods. The town of Kaş sits on the hillside that runs into the Mediterranean...almost everywhere is either up hill or down hill. There are many quaint side streets with cobblestone with shops, coffee, and restaurants. We walked everywhere! The amiptheater at sunset is a terrific spot. Lots of good restaurants and seafood. Kas is a quaint, characteristic town but very hilly. Beautiful artisan shops in old town. Quality of restaurants was excellent. We did the boat trip to Kekova which was magical. Absolutely loved Kas.
Absolutely loved Kas. Beautiful little town surrounded by stunning landscapes, with so much to do during the day and night. Hope to go back! Favourite things to do included days at Hakiliki (Limanağzı), the boat trip at Kekova, and several of the restaurants in town - Nazende, Cinarlar Garden, and Pirzula in particular for nice food and great service.Guest review byTaylarUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Very beautiful, picturesque city next to the sea.
Very beautiful, picturesque city next to the sea. We used one day for Sea kayaking to Kekova island to see Sunken city and Simena. It is worth to go one day to Greece island Kastellorizo and enjoyed Blue cave and swimming in Saint George beach. It is very close from Kas to Myra ruins and Patara ancient city, Saklikent gorge and its beautiful waterfall. There are a lot of beaches- both rocky and sandy, like Kaputas beach. And if you are lucky, you will see big turtles swimming right next to you. There are a lot of nice restaurants in Kas, but a bit overpriced comparing to Istanbul or Ankara. If you travel with a car, choose hotel with a parking place, since streets are very narrow and busy in Kas.Guest review byJanis
