What an absolute gorgeous gem of a hotel in Stone Town. Truly authentic building and decor and incredible bedrooms. I stayed in the ‘Kate’ room which was utterly delightful. Beautiful private terrace overlooking the town, enormous bedroom (beautifully decorated) and an open-air bathtub adjoining. Super private. Gorgeous to wake up in the morning and open the doors and feel the breeze filter through. Beautiful bed linen and towels (woven locally) and handmade soaps. If you are into aesthetics, then this is the place for you. I can’t say enough to rate the hotel. All the staff were absolutely delightful and super attentive (as a single female traveller it was very much appreciated). The Manager was extremely kind and friendly. Also organised a fantastic private tour of the town for me which was brilliant. The rooftop restaurant is to die for. The best, authentic and freshest of food I have ever eaten.The taster plate experience with sunset and cocktails was dreamy. Amazing views and ambiance. Didn’t want it to end! The Secret Garden restaurant is also absolutely worth a visit. I attended on a Friday evening when there was live music being performed. Truly magical. Again, the food was just amazing and the staff all super kind.

This is, without a doubt, the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm hospitality that instantly made me feel at home. The attention to detail throughout my stay was extraordinary, turning this trip into an unforgettable experience. A special mention to the welcome drinks personally offered by the management—a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the exceptional service to come. I was assigned a dedicated butler, and I can’t praise him enough. He went above and beyond in every way, ensuring I was always comfortable and had everything I needed. Truly outstanding service! The room was absolute perfection—elegant, spacious, immaculately clean, and tastefully designed to blend luxury with local charm. Every element, from the linens to the lighting, felt curated for a flawless experience. The surroundings are some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen—nature at its most breathtaking. And when night fell, the African sky came alive. There’s something magical about it that made me feel deeply connected and completely at peace—like being home in the most unexpected way. Honestly, this hotel deserves 7 stars, not just 5. This is the second time we have stayed at this hostel. Everything is great, interior, comfortable, great breakfast, good staff. At night we urgently needed to go to the hospital, the manager very quickly helped us with a taxi. We had an early departure, they prepared a takeaway breakfast for us, thank you very much.

It had character and style. The situation looking over the harbour and near stone town was perfect. Our room looked over the swimming pool with a balcony which was lovely. The beds very comfortable too. The breakfast was second to none. I especially enjoyed the fruit selection and freshly made omelettes. We also enjoyed evening meals watching the sun set over the harbour.

Everything. This place was BEAUTIFUL. The decor and feel was amazing, check in and out was easy, good wifi, little balcony, amazing bathroom with good water pressure. I really appreciated the tea and coffee making facilities and the fact that they used refillable products in the bathroom and offered a filtered water to fill jugs/bottles, rather than more plastic. Breakfast was also excellent, as were the staff. The only disappointing thing was that we weren't staying longer.
