I have been to Abilene before to visit the Eisenhower boyhood home and museum, which was great. However, this time, I wanted to stay overnight to visit the museum in the morning. Abelene appears to have only two accommodation options, and the one I went for (Super 8 by Wynham) was terrible.

City of wonderful houses with porches.

City of wonderful houses with porches. Variety of restaurants all over town. Walking downtown for blocks East to West and watching trains go by is hoot hoot fun. How many Big Art Cowboy Boot sculptures do you find? Inspirational Words at the Presidential Library and Museum of I LIKE IKE...... ADDAMS FAMILY MANSION aka Tebold Mansion tour well done Joseph Tratnor!

    Abilene is a great town.

Abilene is a great town. It wins all kinds of awards for being one of the Best Small Towns in America, The Best Towns in the West, etc. The Eisenhower Presidential Museum and Library is top-notch and is worth the trip alone. They have a recreated Western town, a carousel and steam train that serves dinner. The downtown is nice and has many mom and pop shops and restaurants. They could use more lodging options and a brewery.

The town of Abiline was great.

The town of Abiline was great. I would highly reccomend it to you. The Eisenhower museum is first rate. There are many great places to eat. There are many historic mansions that you can see while you are there. I would reccomend the Seely Mansion on particular.

I really enjoyed the tour of the Seelye Mansion, although...

I really enjoyed the tour of the Seelye Mansion, although the house does not have central air conditioning and it was VERY hot! However, the house has been well maintained, and the tour guide was knowledgeable and flexible with the amount of people that ended up being in our tour group. I was disappointed in the Presidential Memorial Library and Museum. First of all, because of the pandemic, the federal employees that usually run these sites were not working. I was able to obtain a ticket into the museum from the Abilene Visitor's Center, but the on-site visitor's center, the Library and President Eisenhower's childhood home (also on the property) were not open. I love museums so was very satisfied with that experience, but my sole reason for visiting Abilene was to view the Eisenhower Presidential Memorial site and its buildings, so I was very disappointed overall at not being able to see everything. I took time to drive around Abilene and see (in passing) many of the original homes/mansions that were built and are still being lived in. It is a pretty little town, and the local people are friendly. I recommend it to lovers of our country's history!

Passable - What previous guests thought, 39 reviews
Abilene is a financially challenged location along the road. That being said, this place rates well for value and security for such places of this class. It was one of the better sleeps I had a long my way in November. No desk, but the table provided slid easily to the only available wall socket. There was a large fridge but the microwave was underpowered. Being in Abilene, you should bring some food with you as shopping here is depressed as well. There is Sonic burger very near and may rate as the best place to eat.

Bed were comfortable with clean linens, air conditioning worked very well, bathroom features and amenitieis were great, room was very clean. My reservation through Booking.com somehow did not make it to the hotel. Thenkfully they did have four vacancies left, and even gave a further discount than the one provided on Booking.com for a better room.

Location was very convenient although the highway noise was terrible as the hotel sits right along side the exit ramp. The ac in the room was loud so it drowned out most of the other noise which was actually a good thing. The overall value for the stay was good. Hotel noise in general was minimal.

Location was good - easy to get to and close to everything I needed to be near. Room was clean and adequately set up, especially for the very reasonable price. I like that there was no carpet in the rooms because hotel carpet is gross. Front desk staff was friendly. Check in and out was easy.
