FAQs about hotels in Boston

Where Everybody Knows Your Name

One of the oldest and most historic US cities, Boston is known as "America’s Walking City". In its heart, next to 18th-century Faneuil Hall, is Quince Market - a food haven. In the nearby seaport, you can take a whale-watching trip or dine at one of the many restaurants serving a Boston specialty: lobster with melted butter.

The streets south of the peaceful Charles River in Back Bay are lined with Victorian brownstone houses. At the downtown end of one – Beacon Street – is the Cheers bar, modeled on the 80's sitcom. Opposite is Boston Common, a large park with a bronze sculpture celebrating the book "Make Way for Ducklings". The golden dome of the House of Representatives is by the other end.

The oldest part is Charlestown and streets around the Bunker Hill obelisk still feature old-style gas lamps, though now they are electric. Over in Cambridge, Harvard is the USA’s oldest and most prestigious university. The campus is open to the public, as is Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), whose central point is an emblematic, Pantheon-like building.

Sport in Boston is also a big thing, with the Celtics and Red Sox among the city’s big name teams.

The largest New England city, Boston has the perfect size for walking and cycling. Logan International Airport is connected by public transport to Boston hotels, motels, apartments and B&Bs.

What Guests Said About Boston:

  • 10.0

Boston is a national treasure due to its historical value.

Boston is a national treasure due to its historical value. The quality of sites and museums was superb. Restaurants were a pleasant surprise, especially in the "Italian Quarter" -- very good food at reasonable prices. If staying in the historical area of the city, almost everything is within easy walking distance -- though the 18th Century layout of roads, whose names change block by block made navigation "interesting." Though we didn't need it, the Metro System is excellent. The entire downtown area seems very safe day and night. Our only regrets are (1) that we didn't go sooner, and (2) that we couldn't stay longer.

We took an Uber to Salem. Loved it but unable to get reservations to the witch museum. Enjoyed walking around, went to Cheers bar. Ate at Briccos and sail loft... both were delicious! The weather was beautiful and we need to come back for a longer visit!

Beautifull city, great schools, lots of young people, parks all over, museums, libraries, you can spend weeks and months and never get to know it all. the Charles River, waking/biking surroundings, the brownstone buildings, and shopping streets all magnificent. Elegant city that abounds with cultural institutions, parks, and amazing architecture. It can be expensive, but there are ways of enjoying the city without spending lots of money - free arboretum, parks to take picnics, walking, and buses make transportation easy. Fun to walk around at night and see so many people out enjoying themselves, especially the students - they keep it fun!

Their is so much to do, see and eat in Boston.

Their is so much to do, see and eat in Boston. My 2 days in the city wasn't long enough so I will be going back. A personal favourite for me was the Boston Tea Party Museum, very interesting and emersive. Be sure to visit the Italian quarter for a Canoli at Mike's Pastry, the queue was out the door (the best review you can give a place) and it's worth the wait. The city is very well serviced with buses, trains and the subway but is also easy to navigate if, like me, you like to walk everywhere or you can hire a bike.

It was excellent value for money compared to hotels closer to the centre. The beds were very comfortable and rooms clean. The pool was closed as it was November but it must look lovely in the summer months. Breakfast was adequate with hot sausage and egg and porridge. plenty of choice of breads and waffles and some fruit. Approx 30 mins drive from airport in hire car.
