Leadville itself is great, very quaint and historic, nice main street shopping, a great train ride, a variety of good restaurants and food choices. Seems to be growing a lot based on new home & apartment construction. Some areas need to be cleaned up and are way run down, but all in all I loved the history and the charm. Ride the train, get in line early, sit on the 'downhill side', enjoy the views. Eat at Quincy's on prime rib night, explore the old shops.Guest review byScottUnited States - 10.0

It was my first time in Leadville and we loved it they have a plenty activities around the town and we was really lucky because it snowed all the time. We play pool on Pastime Bar and enjoyed!!! Highly recommend riding the scenic Leadville Railroad - especially since you can bring your dog along. Had a great pizza at High Mountain Pies and it has a great outdoor area that allows dogs. We did not spend much time in the town Leadville because of my mobility issues. We did enjoy our trip through Twin Lakes to Aspen. We attempted to see the Maroon Bells, but a reservation was needed, so we weren't able to go beyond the entrance. We were on a budget, so we were happy that Leadville had a Subway and Taco Bell.
