Excellent hotel. Everything we needed - couldn't ask for anything more. Great location: close enough to French Quarter (walking distance), quick access to public transport (street cars), but far enough from the noise. Fantastic views of the river. Very comfortable and spacious rooms; great bedding and amenities. Check-out only at 12pm.

FAQs about hotels in New Orleans

Getting its Rhythm Back

The home of jazz, intriguing New Orleans evokes images of Louis Armstrong, wrought-iron balconies and mouth-watering Cajun cuisine. Louisiana’s largest city, the Big Easy is the beating heart of the Deep South.

Dance down Bourbon Street, where jazz saxophones ring out of traditional bars mixed with more colorful nightlife and entertainment venues. There are several New Orleans hotels near Bourbon Street, spread around the French Quarter with its distinctive Creole architecture.

To the south is Jackson Square, dominated by St. Louis Cathedral. Horses and carts wait patiently by the square, and locals set up their stools and start playing catchy tunes. Just behind is the legendary Mississippi River whose waters are still plied by paddle steamers.

From the river you get great views of the CBD (downtown) skyscrapers and the Louisiana Superdome. Booking.com has several hotels nearby, including some on Canal Street, where streetcars and the famous New Orleans Mardi Gras carnival pass down.

In the northern suburbs is New Orleans City Park, one of the oldest US parks and larger than NYC’s Central Park. Waterways lining it flow into large Lake Pontchartrain bordered by a bayou.

Don’t drink the cocktails on the Natchez, they are lethal.

Don’t drink the cocktails on the Natchez, they are lethal. French quarter not best place to stay if you are looking to sleep at night. It would have been better for me, from a personal point of view, to stay somewhere quieter and just visit the French quarter. The cars and sirens all night keep you awake then the boats on the Mississippi blow their horns from early in the morning, all through the morning it would see. Swamp tour excellent on the big boat, alligators in abundance. Great captain.

There seemed to have lots of activities to do but all are scheduled in the PM. We will plan to stay longer next time to see more of New Orleans. At night, the street smelled like pee. Thank goodness it rained that night and washed away the street. Loved seeing lots of stores. Getting around New Orleans was a little tricky. The streets names are imprinted on the corner sidewalk.

We keep returning to New Orleans - the culture, food, music, art, people - it's a magical place that always has something new to offer. There is a fest or parade every weekend of the year. Every season there is a reason to visit. The list of restaurants to try never ends.

It’s alright. Avoid Bourbon street. Lots of scams, prostitution, and thieves (according to locals). Julia and Magazine streets are quite high end. Royal street has some antiques. Frenchmen street has some decent live music that’s better than on Bourbon. Food is ok.

What I loved most about my visit to New Orleans was the perfect blend of soulful music, vibrant nightlife, and quiet charm. The Evening Jazz Cruise on the Steamboat Natchez was a highlight—listening to live jazz on the upper deck as the city lights danced on the Mississippi was simply magical. Nights at Bourbon Street were equally unforgettable, filled with live music, friendly hosts at the bars, and a safe, welcoming atmosphere. And beyond the buzz, I cherished the serene beauty of the old quarters and the peaceful rhythm of the city itself.

This is an amazing hotel especially for the value.

This is an amazing hotel especially for the value. Big rooms, convenient location with Magazine Street 4 blocks away. It was quiet, safe and had a comfortable bed, soft sheets and a HUGE TV. The bathroom was somewhat small; however, it's been update and they have lots of mirrors throughout the room including a full-length mirror and desk where you can do your makeup. The room was huge with a Keurig coffee maker and mini fridge. I was overall impressed and felt safe traveling alone for work. The staff was nice and responsive. It looks basic from the outside, however it's very nice and updated inside. The area around hotel is walkable and somewhat safe considering NOLA; restaurant Jack Rose and the Pontchartrain Hotel are located next door. This area of St. Charles is pretty and walkable.

Travelling solo in USA for a few months and this is by far the best hotel I've stayed at in the first month, was only about £100 more for a week than it would have been in a days inn for example and it's a whole lot better. No problems what so ever with the hotel. Very clean and nice staff. Location is great for french quarter and the main city. Tours can come and pick you up from literally round the corner. Would stay again definitely.

The location is absolutely perfect, it is on a quiet street, 50 meters away from Bourbon street so you have everything on the French Quarter at a walking distance, even Frenchmen Street. The location is the best positive thing on the Hotel. Besides that, the hotel is super nice and it has good facilities, nice pool, nice play to have breakfast and a great bar on the corner with live music.

Was staying there for the second time and loved it! Quiet, safe location, always clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful! My pups liked it too, plenty of places to walk them and actually close to a river walk. The downtown and the French Quarter are 15-20 min drive away from the hotel, everything is super accessible. Will definitely stay there again next time we visit NOLA!
