FAQs about hotels in Seattle

The Emerald City

Nicknamed the Emerald City due to its lush greenery, Seattle is best known for its great waterfront, fantastic skyline and infamous rainy weather. In reality though, the city gets less rain a year than New York or Atlanta!

One look at Seattle’s skyline and you’re immediately drawn to the iconic Space Needle. Standing proudly at 600 feet, this major landmark features a rotating restaurant at 490 feet and has been featured in numerous films and TV shows, including the classic "Sleepless in Seattle."

The Needle isn't far from the popular Pike Place Market, a public farmer’s market selling fresh produce and crafts from local farms and independent merchants. It’s also the place where the Starbucks Corporation was founded in 1971. Enjoy a cup of coffee in their original store! Seattle has many popular parks and, thanks to its mild marine climate, is a great place for outdoor activities. A visit to Kerry Park to admire the best view of the city with Mt. Rainier in the background is a must!

Arriving at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, you’re only about 35 minutes from downtown and whether you’re looking for a hotel with free parking or near the airport, Booking.com has a great choice for your Seattle trip.

If you enjoy fun attractions in a beautiful setting and good meals, then Seattle is a good destination. It is a good base for exploring Mt Rainer to the East, the Olympic Peninsula to the West, Portland(OR) South, and Vancouver to the North.

We absolutely loved Seattle and would love to return!

We absolutely loved Seattle and would love to return! Pike Place Market was better than imagined, so much to see and eat and drink and felt authentic, not overly touristy. We loved the waterfront, felt like a real good times area and enjoyed Ivar's Seafood so much we went twice in our three-day visit. Recommend ferry to Bainbridge Island and wine tasting near the ferry terminal there, and the bookshop on the high street - would have liked more time to hire bikes etc but coming back to Seattle late afternoon as the sun started to go down was beautiful. Kerry Park and Queen Anne was great. We did a bike tour and liked Ballard and Fremont and Ballard Locks and the salmon bridge. Also enjoyed a free walking tour on Day 1 with a fun guide. Ate really well in Belltown and downtown and Capitol Hill. Space Needle is definitely worth the visit even though some guide books and online guides were sceptical, and the Museum of Pop Culture was fantastic. We'd like to try the aquarium if we manage to come back. We have lived in London for 20+ years and travel a lot but Seattle is probably a firm favourite now. The setting is glorious and feels like a lot happening here with a good soul.

Seattle for us was a welcome escape from Florida heat.

Seattle for us was a welcome escape from Florida heat. Fortunately the Seattle weather was clear, cool and beautiful. Pike Street Market would take three days to explore every nook and cranny. We took a walking foodie tour of the market and would recommend that for visitors., The aquarium and the waterfront were also fun to visit. There is cosmopolitan variety in foods at local restaurants.

It was vibrant & young city & good food & lots of place to see & easy walking with good views. There are homelessness problems though… you see them throughout the city which makes you feel unsafe especially at night time. If you stays & tour day time, you would enjoy the city better.

Location was great, especially to get to the sightseeing spots by feet. The staff was super helpful and friendly, we got everything what we needed as well complementary drinks on a daily base. Seattle has an increased homeless issue since Corona in downtown and this is impacting the area. It is not the hotel's fault but some guests might feel insecure. We did not face any issues here and were not bothered by the homeless people but it is heartbreaking to see their painful situation.

Breakfast was varied and kept well stocked and tables were quickly cleared and cleaned. Location is great for Seattle although area is a downtown one so a bit gritty. There are homeless people around although no one bothered us. Staff in the hotel were exceptionally pleasant and helpful and created a very pleasant atmosphere.

Location was perfect for sightseeing in Downtown Seattle but accommodation itself a little overpriced for what it was. Whilst the hotel still trades on its old world charm, it could now do with a facelift. Bed was comfortable but conversation from next-door could be heard, albeit quietly, on the odd occasion.
