We were on our way to Lassen National Park, Susanville was the largest town on the way from Reno, where we landed. The town itself is not a 'destination' but the surrounding areas are lovely. the Roseberry House was a very great place to stay! On a quiet side street, but easy to find. Nice people, very pleasant accomodations.

Susanville is a small town in northeast CA.
Susanville is a small town in northeast CA. I have been here many times. There is not a lot to do here. But there are many outdoor things to do if you like to hike, hunt or fish. Lassen Nat Park is a nice day trip. Lake Almanor is a short trip away. If you are in town at the right time of the year and the right time of the month, the Susanville Symphony is really quite good for a town the size of Susanville. If you like Bluegrass, go there in June for the festival at the fairgrounds. The T & A Italian restaurant on Main St is very good and the Lassen Ale Works has good pizza, calzone, and salads; not to mention the beers they brew themselves there. I am partial to darks and their's are quite good. And a stay at Roseberry B & B with Dan & Sara is a lovely experience.

I came to Susanville because my dad owned property there when I was a kid and we would visit once a year. I came with a heavy heart by myself because my mom,dad and wife are all gone but the service at the hotel and several eating places warmed my heart. GOD BLESS SUSANVILLE

We were in Susanville to bicycle on the Bizz Johnson Trail.
We were in Susanville to bicycle on the Bizz Johnson Trail. The trail is 25 miles of gravel. We rode about 18 miles out and returned (36 total). Spectacular scenery along the Susan River, and a couple pretty short tunnels. Highly recommend. You can catch the public bus up if you want to only ride downhill.

I get that the hotel can’t control when the city will loose power; however, when they did, they should have notified guests and given them the option of going elsewhere rather than saying nothing and billing for the full rate.

Older facility, but our room was comfortable, and a nice size. Bathrooms are always a problem, grout around the tub should be replaced. The black moldy grout makes it feel unclean. There was a group of Middle Eastern men cooking food in a portable hibachi in front of their room. Not the best site to walk by, but they were friendly and not causing a problem.

The Comfort Inn at Susanville is one of those little gems you find that makes your day . The place felt like home, from the very friendly staff to the really great breakfast you just felt welcomed. Mr Larry Memmott and his staff were fantastic making you feel so welcome and very helpful in any enquiries that we had regarding places to go, road conditions and changing reservations I cannot thank them enough. If you are travelling to Susanville California stop at the Comfort Inn you won't be disappointed
Welcoming hotel. Made to feel like you were staying in a friend’s home. Can even help yourself to wine (this would never happen in the UK)! Comfortable bedroom. Daniel made us feel very welcome and cooked a delicious breakfast for us in the morning. Set up allows you to sit with other guests and chat. Would highly recommend.
Not much was open in the town that evening, but a perfect place to stop between Crater Lake and Lake Tahoe.
The room was nice, quiet, and clean. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was good. We did not use the free breakfast as we were looking for a bit more. I appreciate being able to get a ground floor room. The check-in person did make that change for us. It was easy to find, and in Susanville close to other things in town.

Hands down the best motel in Susanville. I’m here a lot for work and this is my new spot. Super clean, newly renovated and everyone’s really friendly. Breakfast was great with waffles, bagels and oatmeal. I’ll be back for sure.
