It seems that West Valley isn’t the safest or nicest area of the SLC area. We chose to stay here because we were attending an event at the Maverik Center. Would chose to stay in another area next time.

As I written before the worst experience.

As I written before the worst experience. The electricity was shut down. It was my business trip. I couldn’t do my things in the dark. As for breakfast, junk bread, butter, milk and the cheapest corn flakes is this they call breakfast?

Lots of mold and dust visible in vents, overhead fan and AC unit. It was hot so I had to run the AC, so I placed a towel over it to filter. Had to take Benadryl because I got stuffed up almost immediately. Beds were actually very comfortable. Under staffed but friendly front desk and I had to go down to get enough towels for the 4 people staying in room. Not an issue for me, but rooms are not cleaned while you stay without requesting it. Breakfast was good with a lot of options. The location was great, and only saw a few obviously homeless who were hanging out outside. Front desk reception doors locked (access card to open) in the AM which I appreciated.

West Valley City has a history of crime and gang activity though it seems to have improved over the years. Neighborhoods in some areas are run-down and dirty. Commercial areas appear clean and well lit. During 2 days in the area I never saw a single police vehicle or officer. West Valley City Annual Crime Rates: Violent: 4.34/1000, Property: 22.78/1000, Total: 27.12/1000 West Valley City is considered safer than 12% of US cities Crime Index = 12 | 100 is safest.

west valley city is a bustling city, you have good areas and bad. signs of gang activity but very little homelessness was evident. shopping was close by and there was some entertainment but for variety you need to travel to salt lake city or south to west Jordan/Murray area. nice place to visit. having grown up in the salt lake valley this area is not one i would chose to live in.

West Valley has become a very social and big city it seems not that long ago it was the arm pit of Salt Lake but it has blossomed into it own self and matured very well. The diversity is what sets it apart from all other cities around. It has a wide range of different types of food and all of it is pretty spectacular.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location and NOTHING else. I highly suggest you read lots of reviews for this property on booking.com AND google before even CONSIDERING this place. It should be shut down and completely overhauled (maybe new management or owners or both?). It’s outdated, dirty, has broken fixtures, nonexistent breakfast offering, uncaring staff (who seem to live onsite!)…there’s so many things bad about it, the list is too long to write here honestly.

Hotel was great, rooms very spacious, felt like a small apartment. Good location too, I think anyway - we were here for dinner and a stopover but worked for us.
