I have visited Wilmington for the past 34 years. I am a life long resident on North Carolina and stumbled on Wilmington completely by accident while attending a conference in 1991 in Castle Hayne, I love riverfront cities like Charleston, Savannah, Mobile or even New Orleans for find the convenience of location to the beach and other amenities to be wonderful. The Wilmington area is a wonderful place to visit.
The Wilmington area is a wonderful place to visit. There is so much to see. The riverwalk is a great place to visit. There is so much history here. Wilmington is close to some of the nicest beaches on the east coast. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying a visit. I recommend Elijah's on the waterfront and Casey's Buffet (the building is old, but the food is exceptional).Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

The downtown is nice with many bars, restaurants and live music. The weather is hot and humid but Wrightsville Beach, about 20 minutes away, is very nice. There are awesome places right on the water (I recommend Dockside, for one) to eat delicious food and watch the boats go by also.Guest review byMaryellen
