Wow, what can I say... I received a very warm welcome here. I only had one night here as I had to leave for the airport the very next day. The very obliging lady at reception advised me to order a taxi for the next day so that I could catch my flight on time. Apparently Uber was not always as reliable here as I was told. However, as I only had an eSim card (internet) for my cell phone, I couldn't make any calls. She kindly took care of that for me. What's more, I hadn't exchanged any cash either. I thought you could pay for almost everything by card here. Think again... The cab company in Winthrop only takes cash. Now the friendliness, generosity and hospitality was topped by a lot. As the lady at reception knew about my cash balance😂 she simply found 25 dollars for me. That is not a matter of course. I really didn't expect so much kindness and helpfulness and didn't ask for it. This review is also not intended to encourage you to always come here without cash. I simply want to share this great experience that I was able to have. Great atmosphere, great people who work here. Many thanks for everything! I will always recommend this hotel to others ❤️

I was looking for an overnight hotel in Boston, and was debating between an airport hotel or one in the city. I found The Verb and it had great reviews. Price was good too, maybe due to Last minute search. I am so happy I found this place. From the outside it looked a bit questionable, as it resembles a hotel on Miami beach of the 60's-70's. When I entered the hotel, I was so pleasantly surprised. It is a Mini-HardRock Hotel. with Rock'n'roll vibes and merchandise, pictures, and the BEST OF ALL… Records to take to your room – as each room has its own Turntable record player!! I loved my room. Comfortable bed and pillows, coffee/tea machine, AWSEOME robes. I had the best time working with favorite records playing in the background. Breakfast was complimentary. Their muffins were so yummy! Free coffee & Water bottles at the lobby. And get this.,… There is a HEATED STEAMING POOL OUTSIDE, in the Winter! Super cool! Its location is great. Just adjacent to Fenway! Felt safe. Many restaurants and places to hang out/shop around. Had a very good dinner at the hotel Asian fusion restaurant.

    The beach is the one asset but otherwise for business travelers I would not recommend staying. The WIFI didn't work and the TV wasn't working either. No staff on site 24 hours and phone help disconnected so no place to leave a message. No front desk and restaurant staff had to check in guests during their hours. Restaurant was closed for breakfast.

    After staying one night here and parking a vehicle during a trip, we returned to a nightmare—keys were nowhere to be found, no one was there who could assist, there was no record-keeping to refer to, and the employee present didn’t have the phone numbers for the owner or any other employee that might help. We were stuck (having to find emergency pickup for young kids at home in Maine), and told by the janitor onsite “likely no one else would be around until 4pm, and we could come back”. This was 8AM so we’re talking 8 HOURS. From inside the hotel-restaurant, we did everything for 2hr—sent emails, contacted booking platforms, Instagram, LinkedIn and finally the WINTHROP TOWN OFFICE to get ahold of a phone number for owner Casey Goll, who inherited the business. It turned out he was onsite, ASLEEP UPSTAIRS all along, and the employee working was too afraid or not trained to get Casey, despite the urgency of the situation after 2hrs. Once we got his number, Casey took his time coming downstairs and was unapologetic and blasé (“Well, what? You have the keys now don’t you? What else do you want?”). That upset my partner enough to raise her voice—owner’s response was “Woah, you might want to check your tone right now.” I wrote requesting a refund for the night’s stay, offering ownership an opportunity to make this situation right, rather than publicly sharing what we experienced. Response? The owner accused us of “making a threat”, noting that we weren’t charged for parking (which was either $5/night as I was quoted on the phone before booking, or $15/night as I was told upon arrival, or $10/night that I was told at checkout. Who knows?). No apologies, no accountability. Screenshots attached. The small-mindedness and immaturity of ownership at Winthrop Arms pervades the business as a lack of basic business etiquette or systems for employees.

    Our flight was really late, so didn't get to enjoy this...

    Our flight was really late, so didn't get to enjoy this lovely place and neighborhood as much as I would've liked. Did get to walk over to the water and see planes go in and out. And saw a few boats. Was able to walk to a restaurant downtown to pick up dinner at 10pm. Bout a 10 min walk. Nice downtown.

    Winthrop was a great town!

    Winthrop was a great town! We walked to the yacht clubs and Deer Island - enjoyed the beach front, picking up shells and clams, and the local restaurants had some pretty good food! Try D'Parma and Woody's! Bus transportation was great (except on Sunday) so we didn't need a rental to get anywhere we wanted.

    we were visiting family in the area so beside being airport close, it was also only a mile to our family's residence. even if we didn't have family to visit we would recommend this beautiful BnB as a nice change from run of the mill airport hotels. the hostess was warm and engaging, she even had coffee ready for our 4:00 AM departure. we would be happy to stay here again.

    Its location adjacent to the airport but no noise. Winthrop is nice being so close to Boston. Very convenient to get to the airport or downtown. The B&B is a nice house and ghetto flat was large and bright. Breakfast was good. Overall value for money.

    It's a nice and typical hotel in Winthrop near the beach. We had an appartment with a separate bedroom that is also an advantage when travelling with kids. A coffee maker with free coffee was provided. A walk to the beach only takes 5 minutes.
