Situated just a short walk from the center, it’s incredibly convenient for exploring the island. Everything—from the harbor to restaurants and shops—is easily accessible, yet the hotel still offers a peaceful and relaxing environment. The views from the hotel are stunning, especially at sunrise and sunset. Waking up to the sight of the harbor was one of the highlights of my stay. It’s the perfect spot for travelers who want to enjoy both convenience and scenic beauty. Beyond the location, the hotel is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a staff that goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable.

Mr. Cane was incredibly nice and is very welcoming. The place is outside of the city center, which allows you to take in real fresh air. The place is clean and has been freshly painted. At night, as the beach is too far, it is possible to go for a swim in the relaxing swimming pool. The balcony is very large and protectd from the heat of the sun and allows one to work on the computer, if need be. Mr. Cane is an excellent billard player, think twice before asking him to play.

The location was great close to the center, the rooms were very clean ! The staff was beyond nice, they helped us with everything from bike renting, to the day trip in the island, to planning our trip to Ha Giang and the loop. All for prices that were better than anything else we found elsewhere!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The breakfast was a highlight – a delicious fruit buffet every morning, and they also prepare eggs and pancakes on request, which was a great touch. My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. They helped me organize additional tours and arranged all my transfers, which made everything so easy. A special thank you to Thao at the reception – she was incredibly kind and helpful with everything I needed. Highly recommend this place!

I loved staying here. By far the best service I have had in Vietnam. The breakfast was amazing. The rooms are creatively beautiful, luxurious, scenic and comfortable all at the same time. Strategicaly located. Near everything. Honestly I have no complaints.

    Enjoyed Cat Ba, but don’t go on others reviews for accomodation, check out places fully, we changed places twice and would have changed again but decided to stick it out, do not accept a bad room, ask for one which you believe you have paid for and as it was described when you booked it. Don’t book for a weekend or public holiday, the Vietnamese flood the town. We found best value places to eat and drink, cheapest and great food Oasis restaurant, The big man for good western food.

    Great place for tours/excursions such as the cruises that take place often, or a day trip organised to other areas. Had some lovely restaurants and coffee spots too. However, currently lots of construction taking place in the town so if you had time, I'd say it's worth it for the visit but wouldn't be missing out on loads currently if you planned to go but with no intention of doing the cruises or a tour.

    Did not want to do the hiking in Cat Ba national park, however we hired a scooter and this is a great way of seeing a place. Loved taking the cable car to Hai Phong (when travelling back to Hanoi) instead of the ferry. This is is run by Sun World which also runs the cable car in Ha Long.

    Cat Ba Island is more than just the town of course, but most people do stay in the town. Maps and hotel booking sites do not yet show you that they have filled in the bay, the waterfront is 200m further back and there is massive construction along the entire waterfront. All of the hotels that appear on maps to be on the waterfront are not any longer and never will be again. Definitely do not book and pay extra for a “seaview” room as I did. No doubt it will be nice when finished, but right now there is no seafront, just a construction site. You can no longer get a ferry from Haiphong City to Cat Ba Town. On the positive side the boat trips are still worthwhile and good value.

    The town itself has been completely ruined by the massive construction site. They have destroyed the main reason people would come to Cat Ba town, the beautiful bay. The bay has been filled in with concrete and soil to make way for a ghastly mega resort and shopping centre. This will destroy the old towns economy and ultimately ruin tourism here as well as the fishing industry. The island itself is gorgeous and well worth a visit, but do not stay in the town.

    It’s a shame to see the harbour filled in to build large hotels. I feel Badly for the independent hotels on the strip who are trying to recover from the typhoon and will have their waterfront properties hidden behind SunWorld’s resort.

    Really beautiful accomodation outside the chaotic Cat Ba town. We were looking for a quiet place to rest ourselves and we found this homestay. Rooms have a lot of space, cool, and there’s also a beach 200m which the owners of the hotel are cleaning up and it is good for sunbathing or swimming. Linh, the owner, is fantastic and helps you with everything you need (she arranged for us a bus back to Sapa in the far north!). It is also possible to take one of the hotel scooters, the best way to cross the island. Thank you again!

    I am very impressed with this hotel on Cat Ba Island. The location is so beautiful, just a few minutes walk to SunGroup Square and famous beaches. The rooms are carefully cleaned, clean and fragrant. The staff is attentive, always happy to welcome guests. The campus is well-maintained and green, sitting here drinking coffee in the morning is very relaxing. The breakfast is rich, with many delicious dishes. I will definitely come back when I come to Cat Ba.

    The hotel is in a spectacular location on Cat Ba island with the most stunning views from all sides. Very comfortable rooms with lovely pools, one in the roof which is great to watch the sunset. The staff were very friendly and in particular Chi, who is extremely helpful and personable with excellent English. A very comfortable place to stay whilst exploring the beauty of Cat Ba and Lan Ha bay.

    A good hotel in Cat Ba Island The hotel is located right in the center, just 400m walk. All staff are always smiling, including the housekeeping staff. Breakfast is okay, a bit simple but reasonable for the price. We got a guide to join the boat tour, the trip was very good, really a memorable experience.

    We thoroughly enjoyed a few days on Cat Ba island, staying in this luxurious hotel. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, and we really enjoyed the evening restaurants too, particularly the Japanese restaurant. The swimming pool areas were also very nice including the swim-up bar.
