The Lion King hotel stay was situated right at the beautiful location next to the hill and rice fields. The Bich Dong Pagoda attraction was very near the hotel. The property was well maintained. The room provided was pretty good and clean. The staff were excellent in service. Breakfast served was very good. Thanks to all the cleaning staff, they made our room clean daily without giving instructions during our stay. Special kudos to Mr. Lee and Mrs. Anna for their hospitality, effort, and patience in making our travel smooth in North Vietnam, i.e., pre-booking attractions for the Halong Bay cruise and arranging for airport transfers from Hanoi airport to hotel, from Hotel to Halong Bay cruise, and from cruise to Hanoi hotel. Special thanks to the cab driver/limousine bus drivers arranged by Mr. Lee/Mrs. Anna, who are very well coordinated, well prepared, and caring till they drop us at the destination. Overall, our stay at Ninh Binh is an amazing experience and is recommended as one of the best places to stay in Ninh Binh.

Our hosts were incredible, greeting us with tea and fruit when we arrived. they helped us arrange rides, had bikes for us to use (including child seats for my littles), provided warm foot baths every night and sent us off with snacks for our ride to the airport. The rooms were clean and spacious and were some of my kids favorites since they were made out of bamboo. The provided breakfast was delicious and a ton of food!

The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. We had issues with transportation and she offered to arrange a way for us to get to Tam Coc very quickly. They also stored our luggage all day and offered us a bed & shower to use while we waited for our overnight bus. Breakfast was delicious! One of the best omelettes I’ve ever had and also came with fresh juice, coffee, bread, and fruit. The ginger tea she makes is also incredible. Because it’s just a short walk from town, it’s very peaceful and quiet. It’s also very clean (cleaning done daily), the shower has great water pressure, and the bed was comfortable. There’s also a very friendly cat and dog, if you’re an animal lover! If not, they won’t bother you.

The hotel is nice , new and clean, good quality furnitures. Everything like in the pictures. The staff are really nice and willing to help with enthusiasm whenever we ask something. The place is very near Thung Nang, Tam Coc and Bich Dong pagoda. Bikes are free for use. Breakfast was ok, not many options but always fresh juice and fruits.

    We spent two days in Ninh Binh and could have easily spent a day or two longer. It's a very laid back area and there is lots to see. We stayed between Trang An and Tam Coc and used bicycles to get around. The quieter location suited us but for younger travellers Tam Coc is more vibrant. The walk to the top of Hang Mua viewpoint is best done in the early morning (we went before breakfast) so it isn't too crowded and not too hot. There were mountain goats roaming around when we walked up (around 7.00am) but they'd gone by the time we descended and more people were arriving. We didn't take the boat ride in Tam Coc but we took a boat ride in Trang An. The scenery seems more mountainous around Trang An than Tam Coc. On the day we went the water was high so we couldn't go into the caves and there was only one route open, which seemed to be a mix of the other routes. The boat trip lasted around 2.5 hours and was excellent. We also visited the old town at night, which was nice. It's all lit up and there are some good places to eat on the waterfront. Bich Dong temple is also worth visiting. There is a staircase leading up to a smaller shrine and to the left of that there is a passage through a bat cave and up to another small shrine outdoors.

    The view is stunning.

    The view is stunning. I was shocked of how beautiful and cleaned this city is. You can enjoy cycling around the city under the quiet, historic and cultural atmosphere. At the famous landmarks, there was no scam or shoving, hustling, jostling. The goat meat in Ninh Binh is so delicious

    Overall, the experience was very good.

    Overall, the experience was very good. Trang An and Mua Cave were absolutely must-visit places—stunning and unforgettable. If there’s one small note, I found that prices around Tam Coc were a little higher compared to Trang An, but it didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment of the trip.

    My visit to Ninh Binh was only to visit Cuc Phuong National...

    My visit to Ninh Binh was only to visit Cuc Phuong National Park and I caught the end of the butterfly migration which was an exceptional, never to be forgotten experience. The nearest ATM to Wyndham Grand is only a 5 minute drive away but it is advisiable to bring cash to pay taxi drivers, shops and the National Park entrance fee. Taxis are easy to arrange and fairly reasonably priced. It is common to agree a price for a round trip and often the driver will wait for you, sometimes for several hours.

    Hoa Lu, the ancient capital is a great place to visit, pls book the tour guide who can help you to understand the place, pls spend time for walking around, even climd up the mountain to see the whole landscape. We did have a great time and we enjoyed it a lot. Thung Nham is another place worth visiting, especially at 5pm when all the birds are flying back home, it is fantastic view to see and enjoy Night market with long walk along the river is another great experiences. The food, the people and the landscape of Ninh Binh: wonderful!

    1. The couple who run the hotel are truly cordial and genuinely helpful. Oh, their kids and little dogs are lovely, too! 2. The property is super clean and very well-maintained. 3. Breakfast is good and offers various options. 4. Hotel has multiple motorbikes for you to choose. 5. Location is great, merely 15min away from Tam Coc on foot, or a 10min taxi ride away from Ninh Binh.

    Lovely staff!!! Great location by the lake, with a nice pool to refresh after long walks. They rent bicycles, motorbikes at good price. Helped us plan our time in Ninh Binh. And Tam Coc was our highlight in Vietnam, could easily have stayed longer and just relaxed at this nice village.

    Brilliant location is in the centre of Tam Coc but down a little road so it’s so quiet and peaceful. Room was clean, the hotel owner organised our full day tour for us and our transport to the railway station. Easy to get to the Ninh Binh tourist attractions.
