Also, for other sites that offered activities to share the all the activities e.g. indicating that one can come and have a picnic after activities or can buy food/drinks at the place.

Hartbeespoort is a nice place for a short getaway.

Hartbeespoort is a nice place for a short getaway. There is plenty to see and do but it seems restaurants are charging astronomical prises for relatively mediocre food. Entrance fees to attractions and activities are also higher than normal

Hartebeestport Dam has been a Haven for me for the past...

Hartebeestport Dam has been a Haven for me for the past 35years and still enjoy it.......it has become my home away from home.....have used different Lodges and bnbs only had a bad experience once when my car got broken into and everything stolen including my sound system and was booked at Shalamanzi Lodge...but otherwise it's always a pleasure to be at Hartebees!

If you're looking for a perfect day trip or weekend getaway, Hartebeespoort is a gem worth visiting! One of the absolute highlights was Umami Smokehouse – hands down the best place to eat in the area. Their smoked meat platter is out of this world! Tender, flavourful, and perfectly cooked – a must-try for any meat lover. We also spent some time exploring the Hartebeespoort Snake and Animal Park, and I was genuinely impressed. The animals are clearly well cared for, and their enclosures are spotless. The same goes for the Freshwater Aquarium, which was both educational and heartwarming. It’s amazing to see the rehabilitated animals thriving, and the care taken with their habitats. A bonus is that entry to the aquarium also gives you access to the Bird Park, which is definitely worth a visit. Before heading home, be sure to stop at Jasmyn Farm Stall. It's the perfect place to browse fresh produce, local products, and enjoy a relaxing walk through the gardens. All in all, Hartebeespoort offers a fantastic combination of food, fun, and nature – a lovely escape not too far from the city!

Haartbeespoort needs a bit more of restaurants that open until late during the week. Yes there is places that are in need of the peace tranquility but you need to also experience the night life there. It's an amazing place to experience the night life.

Unfortunately an unacceptable stay. I purposely booked an executive double room with a balcony and view for my Fiancés birthday. I then arrive and I’m given a tiny dark room with no view and no air or light. Absolutely unacceptable and I’ll demand an answer for this. Very deliberate decision to book said room with the view and the given room is abhorrent. Unacceptable. When I query at reception they said the hotel is all booked. 0/10. Wouldn’t reccomend. I’ll await an answer from management.
