We stayed 4 nights and everything about the stay was an absolute dream, only made possible by the team at Ivory Wilderness. Each excursion felt unique and Shane and Warren are clearly so passionate and knowledgeable, making every sighting big or small an incredible experience. The location on the river is beautiful and very peaceful and meals were varied and delicious.

Friendliness of staff and guides. Intimate and out of the crowd facilities. The experience of "on foot safari" is unmatchable.

As reluctant as I was to spend what I consider a lot of money even though it was for my Wife’s 70th 😊I now have to say it was money so well spent. The accommodation, food and staff were top class. What was there not to like? The only thing that comes to mind is having to leave ☹. A big shout out to Kevin, an excellent butler who was consistently friendly, professional, and willing to help….and always remembered our drinks of choice. Of course, the main purpose for us was to see wild animals in their natural habitat and this we did on every drive with the expert skills of Herbert(tracker) and Julian (Driver/Ranger). The passion and skill set that Herbert and Julian demonstrated on all our drives was exemplary. Seeing leopards, cheetah, rhinos, zebra, giraffe, elephants, wart hog, packs of wild dogs etc up close was so special. Topped in some way by the excitement that Julian showed when we saw a lynx on a cheetah kill. Julian was full of useful information about all the animals we saw. His passion for his work was obvious. How Herbert spotted a camouflaged leopard on a termite mount at 80-100m while we could hardly see it using quality binoculars or seeing a 2-inch green chameleon in a green leafed bush in the dark by torch light amazed us. The drives were excellent. We liked what appears to be the self-imposed rule of only 2 safari jeeps on any animal sighting at one time with others hanging back and waiting their turn, thus avoiding a free for all, which I’m led to believe happens in the main Kruger Park. We also liked the interaction between ‘competing’ lodges whereby they constantly updated each other about current animal sightings.

Everything was perfect and high quality. Accommodation was very nice and comfortable, bed was amazing. Staff were very very friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing and they really go out of their way to make the experience unforgettable. We had lunch and dinners in various settings. The gym is small but well equipped. Massages were amazing and the game drives were fun and comfy.

Our stay at the beautiful Last Word Kitara was truly special. The lodge is set in a peaceful, breathtaking environment where you can completely immerse yourself in nature. The rooms are spacious, perfectly clean, and come with a beautiful balcony — the ideal spot to unwind between game drives. The food was outstanding throughout our stay. Every meal was delicious, and the attention to detail was impressive — the table was always beautifully set, with a different and thoughtful arrangement each time, which made every dining experience feel unique and personal. The staff were incredibly kind, professional, and always helpful. Everyone made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for, and their warmth added so much to our overall experience. A heartfelt thank you to our amazing guide Matt and tracker Patrick. We were lucky enough to see the Big Five all in one day, which was truly unforgettable. What really stood out was Matt’s genuine passion for animals — whether it was birds or big cats, his enthusiasm was contagious and made every sighting even more exciting. I particularly enjoyed watching how he and Patrick tracked the animals — carefully reading signs, interpreting tracks, and slowly piecing together where the wildlife might be. Being part of that process made each drive feel like a real adventure. This was such a wonderful way to celebrate my graduation. The property was intimate, they cared about conservation, well equipped, great food and a lovely, welcoming team.

We loved the small boutique approach to everything. There weren’t loads of other people staying so we felt looked after in every way. The river room was just superb. Huge. And overlooking the river bed below. The staff were amazing. Our personalised guide, Matt, was such a great guy, and guide, who was passionate about everything to do with sharing the best safari experience possible. Thoroughly recommend.

We stayed 3 nights at King's Camp out of a total of 11 nights in South Africa and this was by far the best part of our entire trip. The place is immaculate - very large and comfortable rooms, extremely friendly staff and a beautiful location in the TImbavati game reserve. We were taken out for dawn and dusk game drives by our own dedicated ranger Cynet and spotter Sunnyboy, in vehicle we had to ourselves most of the time. All the seats were next to the side (so there were no obstructed views), there were warm blankets in the car for the cold and we stopped for sundowners every evening and watched the stars come out - and what stars - amazing views of the milky way. The game was excellent too - lions including cubs, leopard + kill, and all the rest of the big five (if that's what you're into), hyena and cubs. A big highlight was following a leopard through the bush in the car - simply unforgettable! Plus a multitude of birds from eagles to wax-bills - and our extremely knowledgeable ranger Cynet could identify them all! Our room was enormous and luxurious - private secluded pool and veranda area, carefully designed so that it was not overlooked but looked out into the bush with animals traipsing past! There's also a wonderful hide by the waterhole so you can watch the animals coming down to drink and mud-bathe - including a whole herd of elephants! The staff still have a sense of wonder about the animals they see and are just as excited as the guests. And there are steenboks and kudu who visit the grounds and wander around the rooms - and a lovely night-watchman who escorts you to and from your room after dark. The trouble with the food was that it was too good and too plentiful - hard not to gain weight! Well cooked, well presented and served by lovely, attentive staff. Every other night we had a buffet in the traditional "boma" around a fire with our guide.

We spent 2 nights in Motswari Private Game Reserve and it was an unforgettable experience! Wonderful food, service, exclusivity and personal attention. Our ranger, Marius was exceptional and made every game drive and our walking safari unforgettable. His trackers, Elvis and Misha was just as amazing with their knowledge of the animals and the bush. We saw 3 of the 5 "big five" in just 1.5 days of being there, thanks to these guys. The food and service at the lodge was beyond our expectations in every way. I was a vegetarian and they catered for me with exceptional skill and charm. The food was really outstanding, thank you Glenda and team! Our other hosts, Desmond and MJ looked after every detail and made our stay wonderful. Our room was large, luxurious and comfortable. We each had a great massage too (thank you Lerato), in a space where you can watch giraffes walk by... The setting of this private lodge is amazing, you overlook a river with giraffes and elephants walking by. We even had a hyena come close to us while sitting around the camp fire - so special. This was a once in a life time experience and we hope to be back again soon!

Loved the game drives with Christelle, the idyllic setting, the wildlife and the team who made us feel at home. It was a dream come true.
