Air-conditioning was an incredible bonus in the Ceres summer heat. Large bed was fantastic. Loved the fixtures and layout, garden was pretty. The little lindt chocolates and can of JC Le Roux was a nice little surprise to arrive to! Especially since we were staying for our anniversary.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Jeannie’s Plaashuis this past weekend while taking on the Tankwa Trek, and what an incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, Jeannie made us feel like family. After long, tough days of racing, coming back to her home didn’t just feel like a stay—it felt like coming home. She went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable—fresh ice and clean towels every day, even taking care of our mud-covered cycling gear, which was a lifesaver. Her kindness and hospitality truly set this place apart. And the peacefulness of the farm? Unmatched. Waking up to the stillness of nature and unwinding in such a tranquil setting made the entire experience even more special. If you’re ever in the area, whether for adventure or a peaceful getaway, I can’t recommend Jeannie’s Plaashuis enough.

    If you are looking for a small town that is walking distance from working farms with nice accommodation, look no further. It is just under two hours from Cape Town and the beautiful surrounds make up for it.

    It is a quaint town but everything you need is right there.

    It is a quaint town but everything you need is right there. Peet recommended the Butcher Geldehuis, it was some of the best Fillet we have ever had!! The bagel shop was amazing as well. I will definitely be back!!! We had a lunch at Waverley Hills Wine Farm which was outstanding as well. Lots to do in and around Prince Alfred Hamlet but we loved just "chilling" at the house as it was real fireside weather!! Took our own games and coloring in and had great family time!!
