The restaurant where breakfast is served is right in front of the monastery too. Just perfect. Then the staff… incredibly friendly, accessible, easy going. Both at the front desk and all other employees. Finally the room. Great bed, clean bathroom, good space and amenities. If i had more time in the region, id stay there for a couple of extra nights.

Quinta das Lágrimas has a golf driving range and a 9-hole course. The grounds are beautiful, golf was tempting but ran out of time. The restaurant was fantastic with many options. It is located on the slopes of Esperança Mountains. A very beautiful hotel in an absolutely stunning location. Wonderful views across a deep valley towards the Serras de Estrella. Very sensitively converted. Cosy and comfortably with roaring log fires ( this was the end of November!). Can't wait to visit in the summer when we can use the pool!
