The location was ok but the taxi drivers seemed to have difficulty finding it. The hotel was on a main road and was convenient for the stores and eating places and also street venders both during the day and night. Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean but the bathroom could have been better.

Hotel Majapahit is Surabaya's equivalent of Singapore's Raffles at a fraction of the price. I'll probably never experience the 5-star luxury of the Singaporean version and the Hotel Majapahit obviously cannot offer the same standard as they hopefully do. Nevertheless my stay at Hotel Majapahit was incredible. Hotel Majapahit is a grand hotel on a 3-star hotel price. Our room was charmingly old-fashioned and very spacious, the bathroom was incredible with a bathtub, shower cabin and toilet cubicle. We had a terrace with a garden view. The hotel is huge and one can imagine how lively it must have been in the old days. The swimming pool area was very pleasant and the pool and spa's catering and staff were amazing. Our breakfast at Restaurant Indigo was good and the staff were very kind and very professional. Walking through this historical building and being part of it even if only for one night was something never to be forgotten.
