the location was amazing. It’s perfect if you want to discover shuzenji-onsen, hike up the mt. daruma and soak up the beautiful view of mt.fuji or simply enjoy the lovely onsens in the region.

The room is beautiful and full of characters, there is a lovely garden too where you hear the frogs, you really get to experience traditional aesthetic and atmosphere there. The room did feel quite big for a solo traveller. The staff are very attentive and helpful, Yamada san speaks excellent Chinese which makes the communication smooth, they also went out of their way to make arrangements for me to visit various places. The food was also very thoughtful and fresh.

Designed by Shinji Kagawa, the stylish AKARI et KAORI formerly Taizanso is a 10-minute drive from Shuzenji Train Station.

The service and food were excellent. Although we didn’t speak much Japanese, we still received the best quality service and accommodation. We’d love to visit again.

Registered as a cultural property, Arai Ryokan features natural hot-spring baths and traditional Japanese architecture just a 5-minute walk from Shuzenji Temple.

Everything is perfect, high standard. I specifically like the beautiful garden. Location is great, very convenient to everywhere.

The facility itself was immaculate. There are enough onsens and I never have to wait for room. The restaurant offered private dining, both food and service were excellent.

Such a unique place. Enjoyed finally having some comfy couches to relax in! Very well fitted out with absolutely everything you could need. Centrally located to all the sights. This would be a great place for a group of people as there is so much seating and even two kitchens. Highly recommend.

Reasonable rates for an excellent stay in Shuzenji Onsen. They provide welcome drinks and snacks and the dinner consists of a variety of wagyu beef, tempura and sashimi, among many other traditional Japanese fare. The Japanese-style rooms are generally large(er) with low beds making getting on and off easier. There are several outdoor onsens that you can reserve for private use, limited to 30 minutes. The hotel is a short walk to town to visit the Shrine and bamboo grove.

Set within 700 metres of Shuzen-ji Temple and 14 km of Mount Daruma, Marukyu Ryokan offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Izu.

Very comfortable stay in Marukyu Ryokan. Very beautiful ryokan in a quiet town to enjoy our holiday. The food is very yummy that definitely worth a try. The dyson hair dryer at the onsen changing room is definitely a plus haha..
