This is a wonderful hotel in a perfect location in Kyoto. We loved our superior room which was huge in comparison with other we stayed at. Everything from approaching the hotel to check out went smoothly. The cafe/bakery, rooftop bar and the restaurant were all top notch. Great breads, coffee, food and drinks and friendly service. Many sights and temples are within walking distance from the hotel. We enjoyed our walks in the area both day and evening and we would definitely stay here again next time we are in Kyoto. Highly recommend.

Staying at Seikoro Ryokan was a truly unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with warmth and exceptional hospitality.
We enjoyed an exquisite 8-course Japanese dinner, featuring the freshest fish and beautifully presented dishes, followed by a delicious traditional Japanese breakfast the next morning. Sleeping in the traditional style, on comfortable floor mattresses, added to the authenticity and charm of the stay.
The room was perfectly air-conditioned and overlooked a serene and beautifully maintained zen garden, offering a sense of peace and calm. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches—yukata robes provided for dinner and the onsen, as well as comfortable sleepwear.
Thank you once again for such a wonderful and memorable stay. We hope to return one day!

Loved the amazing friendly and helpful staff, who gave us good advice and discussions.
Great location in central Gion in a quiet street but walking distance to almost anything.
Great variety and range of eating places and the river close by and of course as many temples as you need with cool peaceful gardens as well as museums. Nishiki Market is a short bus ride or interesting 20min walk.
The room was beautiful and fully equipped incl a small kitchenette, electric blackout curtains and lots of tech
Breakfasts were copious and varied to suit most tastes, best scrambled egss in Japan.
Amazingly bestiful designer chairs in a little sitting area and free laundry room was an unexpected bonus!

Beautiful hotel in the middle of Gion. The room was spacious, with a tatami space and beautiful details. Free amenities include very nice bath salts. The hotel is relatively small and has a very calm and cosy atmosphere. Our room did not have a view but the room itself was so nice that it wasn’t an issue.

the room was clean, modern and spacious by Japanese standards. the bed was comfortable. the location was great - a quiet little back street and easy walking to downtown Kyoto and all the sites of Gion. the staff were lovely and very helpful - they helped us organise a luggage transfer and restaurant bookings. I would definitely stay here again.
