The hotel itself is huge, very well kept and stylized. The staff were nice and spoke English well so it was easy as a foreigner. The room itself was large and extremely clean as the rest of the hotel. The bed was comfortable. The bath was large and very nice, they provide you with bath salts for a nice soak. There were a few different tea sets you could try, one of them being a matcha set. It was quiet, I couldn't hear my neighbors at all. I got a massage, the masseuse was very nice and professional, I felt relaxed. The food at the restaurants was very good as well, there were a few options for different cuisines and budgets. Overall a great experience and value for money. I came to relax and managed to do just that!

Ryokan Tori is located in Kyoto, 2 km from Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. The property is around 2.3 km from Nijo Castle and Kyoto Imperial Palace.

This is an amazing place. We loved the tea ceramony and the bath. Breakfast is autentic and delicious. Hospitality is outstanding. You feel like you were transfered to a different time. I can not recommend it enough

Stayed there for 3 nights in September. The place is really good, they have all what you need, even possible to buy beer and other drinks for a normal shop price. Host is rely nice and helpful, he even prepared the bed for me before the time of check-in because I was sleepy after a late train from Tokyo. I was planning to stay there for a night at first, but I stayed for all my days in Kyoto in this place. Really recommend.

This Hostel is the best of my trip in Japan ! So cosy and a typical Japanese home, comfortable, quiet but sociable if you talk with other people in the common room. This is a great place to stay for when you want to have your own private quiet space (and a bit more space than a typical hotel room), but still want to be cared for by hotel-like staff. We landed on this place because I wanted to stay in a typical Ryokan, but my husband wanted his own bathroom. It was the best stay of our Japan trip out of 3 hotels that were all far above average. It feels very secluded and private, there are around 10 apartments in total and everyone has their own entrance. There's a coin washing machine as well. There is a small breakfast buffet with really great coffee and they provide some free snacks during the day as well I believe. All in all it feels really kind and caring.

What a wonderful hotel! So peaceful and quite, gives you absolute calmness and Japanese vibes. Comfortable! Love the built in music and the bath was another level!! The hospitality was amazing, the tea was on point, the staff is super friendly and speaks English very well!
