what you’d expect from a 5* hotel

Amazing room, with a view to die for. The ocean was right under our balcony, and the room we were allocated allowed us to watch both the sunrise AND the sunset - never happened to me before! Just like other places I've stayed at in Portugal, half of the staff was lovely and the other half gave the impression they would rather be spending their time elsewhere. Strange...

The perfect base for exploring Madeira. The Residence Porto Mare – Porto Bay is an absolutely stunning place. We enjoyed every second of our stay. It was magical from start to finish. A warm and friendly welcome at reception. The reception staff were very kind to us, took our luggage to our room and helped us navigate the huge grounds. We had a studio room, spacious and very comfortable with good furniture. Large terrace with table and chairs, and in front of it a garden with sun loungers. The kitchen-studio was equipped with everything you need to prepare dinner. The beds are huge and the mattresses are very comfortable for a great night's sleep. The room is spotlessly clean, cleaned every day. A special mention goes to the housekeeper Zite Figueira. Her cheerful attitude and cheerful laughter made our stay even more enjoyable. We celebrated my wife's birthday in the Alfama a la carte restaurant. The food was excellent and the manager of the restaurant Paulo and his whole team made my wife's day unforgettable. The cake with candles and congratulations from the staff was great. The hotel staff also congratulated us with champagne in the room. We would like to thank everyone. It was a wonderful surprise. I must say that all the staff of the residence are very friendly, polite, diligent and helpful. The breakfast staff was always professional, despite being very busy. The breakfast in the Atlantida restaurant, "buffet", was very good. The quality of the food is excellent. Beautiful well-kept green area, beautiful gardens, great pools, jacuzzi, gym, "happy hour"! There are enough places on the sun loungers. Supermarket and shopping center next door. Lido nearby. Many restaurants and bars around Everything was perfect for our stay. We had a great time. We had a great time - couldn't find a reason to complain. The apartment was clean and well-maintained, and the host provided us with all the necessary information upon our arrival. We were a bit worried about localization a bit further from Funchal center, however the vicinity offered many restaurant, shops and attractions for our convenience.

We are very happy 😊 with everything!The apartment location is perfect, only crosswalk from Forum Madeira shopping center. There are the best supermarket shop with everything, what we needed!!!We had an amazing holiday week 😀!We are sure ,that we will back again 😀!!!

Good location with everything you need and an awesome view on top!

Stay in mid-March 2025. We are very pleased with the stay. The spacious apartment shines and smells clean. The staff is very helpful and polite. Perfect contact. Easy access from the airport, by bus for 6.40 € / person. We highly recommend. We will definitely come back.

The views from the terraces were amazing Aircondition in all three bedrooms, and also in the main living space Beds were comfortable, and so was having one bathroom for each bedroom The kitchen was very well equipped Wifi was excellent The pool was nice and never very busy The location was quiet and also quite central with many restaurants and shops nearby. We tried many restaurants in Funchal, and these stood out for us: Loft - for brunch/lunch or an early dinner. Really fresh and inoovative dishes, with a good atmosphere. Carvao Grill House - Steakhouse with really great service, wonderful food and a good wine collection
