Amazing accommodation. Relaxing, friendly people, and outstanding breakfast. Unfortunately, I had a health incident, and Pia's (owner) husband took me to the clinic at 4 am. It felt like we were guests in our friend house rather than a hotel. The location is a couple km away from paje but there are board games and books there to spend your time and also a kayak to use. It has got plenty of hot water all the time and the beat water pressure we had in zanzibar. Very clean and good care taken of the facilities. We had a couple of gifts and a welcome glass of wine. Great experience overall ( I just couldn't enjoy it fully due to my incident) The food at the hotel restaurant was fresh and very tasty!!

The Sand Beach Boutique Hotel is, without a doubt, the best hotel on the east coast of Zanzibar! New hotel built with great taste and with attention to detail. My family and I stayed at this hotel for 11 days in a villa with a private pool. The villas are spacious with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, perfect for families and with the advantage of having a private pool! All the hotel staff are impeccable, from the owner to all the employees, as well as the food is always fresh and prepared with dedication. My son had his birthday and he was entitled to a small cake and they sang happy birthday to him, I know he will never forget it. Thank you very much, we loved our stay!

My second visit to Mahali, a boutique hotel nestled in the picturesque town of Paje, Zanzibar, was nothing short of a magical experience. Upon entering my room, I was delighted to discover a hand-written card thoughtfully placed on the bed, welcoming me back to Mahali. It was a simple gesture that spoke volumes about the hotel's commitment to making each guest feel special and valued. The attention to detail extended throughout the entire property, from the impeccably designed rooms to the meticulously maintained common areas. The staff at Mahali were the epitome of friendliness and professionalism. Their genuine smiles and eagerness to assist created an atmosphere of warmth and comfort. Whether it was providing recommendations for local attractions, arranging transportation, or simply engaging in casual conversation, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that every guest's needs were met with utmost care and attention. Cleanliness is paramount at Mahali, and it is evident in every corner of the hotel. The housekeeping team takes great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, ensuring that each room is spotless and inviting. The common areas, including the pool and lounge area, are also impeccably maintained, allowing guests to relax and unwind in a pristine environment. The pool at Mahali offers a refreshing respite from the tropical heat, and its tranquil ambiance is enhanced by the breathtaking views it provides. Whether you choose to bask in the sun on the comfortable loungers or take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear water, the pool area is a true oasis of relaxation. Mahali's beach restaurant is an absolute delight for the senses.

Boutique hotel which has been well thought out with all you might require. Different activities great food AMAZING STAFF who went above and beyond and made our stay wonderful. They arranged trips and took care of every detail all with a smile on their faces

Very nicely built resort with a lot of space to move around and find your private area. Everything well maintained. Very friendly staff. Food was also very good and we enjoyed many dinners here. Special thanks to manager Luca who found us room although place was sold out.

We were welcomed with a big smile and a welcome drink after a long journey. The room included half board (breakfast& Dinner), and we were always welcomed by Khalfan our own personal waiter. He is the best, his service is great and sincere. We had great conversations, and he taught us even Swahili. BIG compliments to him and all the staff. I would defitnley recommend this to other travelers.

The location is wonderful, quiet and absolutely relaxing. The bungalow where we stayed did not have all the comforts like an hotel room, but we knew what we were doing when we booked here, we wanted to be immerse in the nature and that was exactly what we got, we even had the pleasure to see a little monkey on our balcony one day. All the people working at Evergreen are super polite and available, the way the treated us was unbelievable, it will be very hard to forget them. The beach in front of Evergreen is not crowded like Paje, and on top of that there are very few beach boys, one day we went in Paje and regretted it because we were stopped every 2 minutes by people trying to sell you something, so we decided to come back at Evergreen. Another crazy thing is the food, litterally everything was delicious, and we tried almost the entire menu during our stay. Also we cannot fail to mention Alawi, he will be your point of reference for every tour around the island, we did many tours thanks to him, and he was so sweet to give us gifts the day we left, so we really cannot forget him, and also Yusuf (our driver) which we fell in love with. This place really left something in our heart and in our memories. If we’d ever come back to Zanzibar this is the only place where we’d want to stay. A huge thank you goes also to Claudia and Mustafa, they did a wonderful job at Evergreen you can fell their love for this place, and on top of that they were very helpful. It is impossibile to not drop some tears the day you leave.
