The hosts Violeta and her husband are absolutely wonderful - it was cold and her husband had already started a wood fire to ensure I stayed warm, whereas she made me hot soup and brought in some sweets as a welcome. The apartment is not where it is listed but I have made a Google Maps entry now, so please search there and it should be easy to find. Location is not bad - about a kilometre outside the town of Vares, which is walkable. Only one point of improvement would be hot water in the boiler - it is sufficient for only one short shower, which is not ideal after a long day of walking.

The room is located in the heart of the old town, a two-minute walk from the main street, but at the same time in a quiet alley without any annoying noises.
