Very nice place, floor heating, terrace, quiet, nice bathroom, washing possibility, coffee machine etc.

As Lamelas is a beautiful house in a lovely small village. The owner is warm and friendly and left us cold water and a local spirit both of which were very welcome. Its extra extra clean with comfortable beds and every amenity you could want. We would definately return and have no hestitation in recommending it.

The amenities provided were very thorough and complete. It had a bathroom for each bedroom. Lighting was very good and switches were conveniently located. There were air fresheners in each room. Host was very helpful with suggestions and replied to our inquiries immediately.

I don’t often give a perfect 10 to a property, but to be honest, if I could, I’d give this property a 12. An old stone building in the heart of Ourense, beautifully and sympathetically restored, it has everything one needs for a short or long stay. I love seeing these old buildings repurposed. An unprepossessing wooden door (with a clever but simple to use virtual key) opens onto a flag stone floored lobby. The entrance is level access and it was easy to wheel my 91-year-old mother to the lift. There are bright yellow umbrellas waiting for guests to use when the inevitable Ourense rain comes and, when we visited, a sparkling Christmas tree in one corner. Below is a private garage (saving around 15euro a day in parking). The two-bed apartment we rented had two spacious en-suite double rooms plus an additional bathroom, a big living/dining/kitchen and more space than most homes. Underfloor heating keeps the place cosy whilst the full-length double-glazed windows retain the features of the original historic building with wooden shutters. The kitchen is very well equipped with coffee maker, microwave, toastie maker, fryer and blender to name a few. There was a welcome pack of wine, chocolates, water and a basket of fruit. The sofas and beds were comfortable and the showers large and level access.

This must be the most spectacular hotel in our 10 Hotel trip ! This place simply has everything <3 as you approach, you find yourself on the banks of a river and a pretty Romanesque chapel greets you. You drive on as you enter a wood which stretches along the bank of the river. You drive on a small road, with no problems, and enter the property. The carpark leads to a lawn with lovely plants and a front garden overlooking the river. The view is beautiful. We were greeted by the host who explained to us the story of the place and bit about the family business of wines. He showed us to our room. The building itself is rustic in style but exquisitely renovated with all modern amenities, and so much elegance and 'buen gusto'. The room was a dream, furnished in a rustic, minimalistic fashion, with delicate and relaxing lighting . Such a big room with a balcony sprawling onto the garden and the river. Below and beyond the property, the wood continues, and offers a lovely stroll along the bank of the river. Thankfully we had also booked dinner at the property. At night the garden lawn on the river was turned in a candlelit restaurant. We were offered a superb dinner cooked by the hostess herself, who is a qualified chef, in her own right. This meal was in itself a wonderful experience, and offered great value for money. The atmosphere it offered, the view, even at night, being a full moon, the delicate goodness of the fare, the wine which was from their own Bodega, made it a night to remember. The breakfast, served in an elegant manor style dining room consisted of freshly baked bread from their kitchen, home made jams and other products. Congratulations to this beautiful couple who turned this old property into a piece of heaven on earth !

Everything is great, the owner is a very nice man who came early to help us leave the bags. Really close to the train station, but the windows face a courtyard, so no noise. The terrace is nice and big.
