Excellent staff,patient as we do not speak much French. Lovely spacious room made up every day required. Great bathroom nice big fluffy towels. We had a fabulous Sunday lunch when we arrived. Superb service and food. Bar relaxing and staff great. Price for the week competitive.

If you can - and want to - afford it, this is simply an amazing, lovely place. A beautiful chateau in a well-maintained park. Absolutely friendly and helpful staff throughout. La Grenouille Noire is a gem, not the least because of its host, Chris. The rooms are splendid and very comfortable, the atmosphere homey and laid back, and the cooking fabulous. The pictures are 100% accurate; the village is quaint and quiet set in beautiful rolling hills. Chris is a fabulous host and cook, so whatever you do, don’t forget to book dinner in advance, which includes all beverages and a home cooked three-course meal. We intend to return with our friends, just for the experience!

A lovely warm welcome from Betty & Jan following a 71/2 hour drive was much appreciated, arriving late evening on a cold and snowy December evening, the warmth of the house and lovely log burning wood fire, warm room and lovely dinner soon put a smile back on our faces. The rooms are spotlessly clean with everything you need supplied, very quiet and comfortable ensuring a great nights sleep to make you ready for whatever you have planned. Breakfast is sumptuous and delicious and we ate dinner each evening too. The perfect jewel in the crown, we are so pleased we found this place and will certainly return should we find ourselves needing accommodation in this area of France.
