Chose this location solely on the basis of internet search - and it exceeded our expectations. Lovely old coaching inn in a quiet village. We were allocated one of the newly refurbished guest rooms - which surely equalled a 5-Star hotel! Excellent evening meals in relaxed pub setting - although we could have sat in the separate restaurant with its classy decor. Staff all very friendly and helpful - including the nice lady on reception who went to the trouble of typing out her suggested itinerary for our day of exploring some of the area! Would strongly recommend.

    Excellent hospitality- the lovely host even offered to dry our wet washing from our last nights stay. We enjoyed the evening meal in the pub and joined the locals with a trivial night of fun - highly recommended

    The room was modern and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Good qualtity sheets, towels etc were provided. The wifi worked well. Other facilities were all as described. The staff were friendly and professional. The attached pub has a nice atmosphere and serves good food. The location is great for walks along the canal and nearby countryside.

    Convenient and informal. The accommodation was central for what we needed and very flexible with our check-in time. This allowed us to experience quality time meeting up with family and then spending half a day up at the locks on the Sunday. Tea and coffee facilities also had biscuits, which seems rare now a days.

    The proprietors and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. My room was perfect for a couple of nights with my dogs with everything I needed to hand. The menu choice was varied and very affordable as well as being delicious. I intend staying again
