We loved the cosy atmosphere of the hotel. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff we met and the patrons too. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Amazing breakfast! Great location too if you're planning some whisky tasting. We highly recommend the Lochindaal Hotel.

I absolutely loved staying here, but it won’t be for everyone. This former stately home is only half renovated with large areas still to be finished. I was a bit concerned before checking in about other reviews saying it wasn’t very clean but our room was spotless with a huge roll too bath and marble floors. The beds were soooo comfy. Some other comunal areas were a little tired so perhaps they could be cleaner but they are the rooms that are awaiting renovation and it’s more wear than dirt that’s the problem. Despite some small niggles Islay House has so much history and the building itself is stunning. Perfectly situated, quiet, peaceful and great views. Ali the main ‘concierge’ (if you can call him that as it’s really more of a b&b) was affable and helpful always, even showing me the buildings plans because I was asking about the closed off areas. If I ever go back to Islay I will 100% stay there again. The breakfast absolutely slapped, by far the best we had anywhere on our trip.

Very comfortable and quiet room, just the sound of the sea in the distance. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, really going above and beyond. Food in the restaurant great quality as well. For sure will stay again next time on Islay.

This is such a lovely family ran hotel we just adored it when we stayed here for our one year anniversary! Breakfasts were exceptional and they even gave us a takeaway bacon buttie on the Saturday when we had to leave early for our ferry. Food here is lovely and homely and the Seafood Kitchen they own is also insane! Please do book though as its very popular! Highly recommend staying here - loved it.

This is a very quaint, pretty , beautiful experience of staying in an historic hotel. It was beautifully decorated for Xmas and other guests and locals visiting the bar were friendly and fun. Food was great. Tv struggled. Breakfasts were fantastic especially the scrambled eggs and salmon. Loved having Marion play piano accordion on our last night. Thanks to Henry for organising. Was very special.

Ian, Katie, Jack, Alexander and the whole team made our stay comfortable and entertaining every day. The food at the restaurant was fabulous, breakfasts cooked to order every day, dietary requirements taken care of and whisky recommendations to suit every taste and every pocket. We stayed in the family room which had lovely touches like a Nespresso machine and lovely toiletries in the bathroom - which had a heated floor!! We’d love to come back and stay again!
