We had a wonderful stay at Mama’s, the place is still partly under renovation but the room, the bathrooms and the common area are already so comfortable and lovely, very clean and well decorated. Breakfast is also delicious! Many many thanks to Faldi and Nina for their hospitality and their kindness. We had a one day tour around Ruteng with Faldi and got to see beautiful landscapes! We also got the chance to learn more about Maggarai culture and meet with Faldi’s family.

What wonderful hosts , so welcoming and helpful with tours and onward journey logistics. Idi is the ideal host, as his English and great conversations were a highlight of our stay with him in his family home . Our room was spacious, and ex lrg bed was super comfy + ensuite bathroom was adequate. The deck overlooking the lush surrounds was a lovely place to sit, Idi served us local fruit and avocados + fried bananas as welcome treats + we had a delicious dinner while we were there also cooked by Idi .our breakfast was also great with local breads and foods. A great experience in a unique homestay .

We were the first guests at this accommodation, and Peter and his whole family treated us wonderfully. They made everything easy for us and were very attentive. There are still a couple of small details to finish, but the stay is pleasant and it has everything you need. It’s a pity we couldn’t go see the sunrise from their rice terrace.
