The owner Reza is really lovely and speaks perfect English (with a British accent!). Tangkahan was a nice change from the much more touristy Bukit Lawang. We especially enjoyed our jungle tour, including tubing on the river, it was one of the most magical moments of our trip!! We also enjoyed mingling with locals and bathing at the nearby riverbank. You should definitely not miss out on this more remote part of the jungle!

The Jungle Guide is such a good organization. They organize trips through the jungle with stays in the jungle. the guides grew up in the jungle and share their knowledge Their english is well and they even organize karaoke evenings or play games with you in the jungle (card tricks etc). It was so much fun, I learnt a lot and I saw the Orang Utans in wild life, also many other monkey. Their lodge is placed at a hill over the river. The bungalows are simple, with a very comfortable bed. I will defetly go back.

We loved our hostess Tia and the other people who work at Rambai Tree Jungle Lodges, they we're all so helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed to be a little more secluded as the lodge is up between the trees, but still in walking distance of everything you need. The accommodation also had a good restaurant!

The place is beautiful and quiet. The staff is amazing, very helpful. They also offer trekkings to the jungle. I did a 3-day trekking. It was the best. We saw orang-utans, had delicious food and the guides were very knowledgeable.

Everything was perfect. Family and staff was incredible friendly and very helpful. The trekking was amazing. I saw a lot of animals in the jungle. The Bungalows are beautiful. This was probably the most amazing place i have ever stayed. The staff was sooo so great and helpful, we did the overnight jungle trek with Johnny and Salamad, we saw 3 orangutans and also a bat cave Trek with Risky which we saw 1 orangutan. It was my birthday during the stay and they threw a surprise birthday party for me with platters of food, a cake and a friend to play live music for us! Absolutely perfect stay, and thank you again to everyone who was working they made our trip so amazing! The rooms were comfortable, and surprisingly cool for just having a fan, and the breakfast was also very nice, we also had hot showers (sometimes, but you can't usually expect them in bukit lawang)

I don’t know where to start, I planned 2 nights in Garden Inn and ended up staying one week 😁 it is the best location in Bukit Lawang, in front of the river, calm and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are super nice, clean and confortable & the restaurant is so chill. Food is also delicious and cheap! Finally the staff is lovely, i spent my bday there, I will never forget my stay here and I made friends for life 😘

Sam’s Bungalows is quiet and isolated. You stay at the top of this narrow way that locate most of the tourist housing in Bukit Lawang. Therefore you will find lots of local restaurants while listening to jungle sounds. Sam’s kitchen is definitely one of the best, the food is excellent and the service provided is really good. We also used their taxi service from Medan airport. Perfect stay in Bukit Lawang!
