NetherlandsI recently stayed at Gistihúsið - Lake Hotel Egilsstadir during a trip to Iceland and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located in a stunning location overlooking Lake Lagarfljót, and we were lucky enough to spot the Northern Lights during our stay.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, providing us with tips on the best spots to view the Northern Lights and ensuring that we were comfortable throughout our stay. The room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed and all the necessary amenities. The breakfast buffet was also delicious, with a great variety of options to choose from.
One of the highlights of our stay was the hot tub facility, which was situated outside with stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. It was the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring the area.
Overall, I would highly recommend Gistihúsið - Lake Hotel Egilsstadir to anyone visiting the area. The location, staff, amenities, and Northern Lights spotting opportunities are all excellent, and the hot tub is a fantastic added bonus. I would definitely stay here again.
