Family hotels and homes in Hjarðarholt

The stay absolutely exceeded our expectations. We booked a cabin for a one-night stay after our long road trip from the northern region. The staff was exceptionally friendly; she even introduced us to the charming small town and the information about the stores and restaurants that are still open for business during winter. If you prefer cooking, there is a well-equipped kitchen and a lovely greenhouse available for shared use. Some comments mentioned that the room was too small. While it is true, it was more than enough for just sleeping. The beds (and the pillows) were the most comfortable ones we had during our 16-day trip in Iceland. We would absolutely recommend this place to others who are planning to visit the Westfjords and are looking for a convenient stop on the way to the west side. Oh - and the kind staff even remind us to go out to catch the stunning northern light! :D

The building looks like it’s recently renovated. Bathroom is super clean and well-stocked with towels. Triple room is spacious. Free breakfast. Can wash clothes with small fee (1000 ISK).

Place where hotel is surrounded by mountains, nearby you can find hot springs. Staff was amazing 🤩 One of the best place to stay in Iceland, hundreds percent recommendation for everyone. You can spend calmly time at big and scenic lounge or play billiard or other games at game room 🤩

Farmhouse, vintage decorations and furniture. Very nice. Quiet neighborhood, away from civilization. Perfect conditions for a rest or a break in the journey.
