An amazing place for nature lovers. Very friendly staff...superb food and very comfortable accomodation

Can't say enough good things about this hotel. This is just the best hotel if you're looking to relax and enjoy great meals, have a drink at the pool, and enjoy the jungle. Exceptional owners with wonderful staff. This place felt like home and I loved being here. I came for 1 night and stayed for 4 more. I wish I could have stayed longer. I did one excursion a day, which the hotel arranged - rafting, abseiling, waterfalls. Going through the hotel is cheaper and less stressful than arranging through Viator. All were so much fun. The owners arranged for an outdoor fire before dinner when the weather permitted which was so nice. The Sri Lankan food is incredible, don't bother with the Western option.

The host Mona was amazing. Great cooking and hospitality. A pearl just inside nature. Clean and accommodating. Very quite and full of magic.

I recently stayed at this beautiful river & mountain view hotel, and it was truly a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. The views from the property are breathtaking – waking up to the sight of misty mountains and the sound of the flowing river was magical. The hotel’s adventure offerings were a real highlight. I tried both white-water rafting and canyoning, and both experiences were well-organized, safe, and absolutely thrilling. The guides were professional, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. After a day full of excitement, returning to the comfort of the hotel was wonderful. The rooms were clean and cozy, the food was delicious, and the staff made me feel warmly welcomed throughout my stay. If you’re looking for a place where you can enjoy stunning natural scenery and exciting activities in one package, this hotel is a fantastic choice. I can’t wait to come back!

The place was fantastic, it was amazing to wake up with the view from the window: forest, river, mountains and sounds of nature only! We took “making and tasting tea tour”, it was incredible experience to collect the tea and see in my own eye what I saw in National geographic. The stuff was very good, the food was tasty and the house was beautiful

We stayed at Leon Hilltop Resort, Kitulgala, and it was a truly memorable experience. Although the owner was not there in person, he made sure everything was perfectly arranged for us. He arranged for Sampath to meet us before the location and assist us to the property, which was very thoughtful. Sampath was extremely helpful and friendly. We were warmly welcomed with a refreshing drink upon arrival. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. While the resort doesn't have its own restaurant, they asked what we wanted for dinner and even brought it from outside during heavy rain, something we truly appreciated. For breakfast, we requested string hoppers, and they kindly arranged rice, bread, and string hoppers. The place is peaceful, very clean, and offers a stunning mountain view. The entire staff, including two other team members whose names we unfortunately didn’t get, were kind, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. The owner also kept in touch with us throughout our stay to ensure everything was going smoothly. This experience exceeded our expectations and was absolutely worth more than what we paid. Even though we are locals, we were treated with the same care and respect as any guest which is rare. After a tiring field visit to Makandawa Forest Reserve, the calm atmosphere and excellent service made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you to everyone at Leon Hilltop Resort. Honestly my best stay my entire trip! Lata was a fantastic host, super hospitable and made up the most amazing meals. The place is beautiful with a lovely terrace. Very quiet spot. Cannot reccomend enough.
