The hotel itself leaves nothing to be desired and offers every comfort. Some people have written in their reviews that there are no shopping facilities in the immediate vicinity and that it is better to stock up on drinks before travelling. It is true that there is no shop nearby, but water is available free of charge at any time of the day or night. The drinks in the hotel bar can also be bought at a really fair price. And actually, you know before you book that you've chosen a hotel in a secluded location, so that shouldn't be a problem anyway. And to be honest, it's the location in the middle of nature on the beautiful beach that gives the hotel its special flair. The food in the restaurant was very tasty and we always enjoyed it. The breakfast was included in the room rate, was very good and you could also choose from different variations. We really enjoyed the hotel and will definitely be back. Thanks a lot for the great days and your excellent hospitality! Oops, I almost forgot, you can also watch sloths and howler monkeys from the hotel. Really cute to watch :)

Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. My daughter and I stayed in the king suite with view of the water. Other reviews said the room was hot but we were actually cold and used a blanket due to the water breeze and fan. The room also had an outdoor shower and hot tub. David was an excellent host and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

Because you are in the middle of a national reserve you end up having breakfast and dinner in their restaurant, and it’s absolutely superb! Thank you both.

Pierre and Manon who are running this property with a lot of LOVE are incredible people worthy of admiration! They bought a house with a good amount of land around it and have constructed several cabins, a yoga deck, a restaurant and a boat house over the last few years. Ataraxia has its own pier, so boatmen will easily take you there from Isla Colon. At the back of the property, there is a nature reserve, a jungle with so many treasures! We were able to spot the red frogs, caimans, a racoon, yellowtail birds, giant turquoise butterflies, turtles, giant ants, we rented a free kayak and paddled through the mangroves nearby, and we walked on several occasions to Old Bank, the main village on Isla Bastimentos, and once to Wizzard Beach. Manon also booked us a trip to Zapatilla (including sloth, dolphin and starfish spotting and snorkeling) and Pierre arranged our transportation to the airport. Several ideas for activities in the area conveniently presented in a booklet in the room (Zapatilla trip, Wizzard Beach hike, Red Frog & Polo Beach, bio-luminescence tour, etc.). Free kayaks and snorkeling gear available. If you are into botany and medicinal plants, you will have a lot to talk about with Pierre who planted so many of them around the property. Running a guesthouse in the middle of the jungle is a hard task, yet the couple somehow manage it and always keep smiling and interacting with guests at all times. Thank you very much, we will never forget our stay with you! You are a true inspiration! Be aware that: there is no hot water or AC and you cannot use a hairdrier, as the place runs on solar energy. There is wifi. Rooms are cleaned daily and are very spacious. Cold drinks available in the common fridge and option to have dinner. Tasty and creative breakfast included.

Some units feature views of the sea or garden. Great accommodation between sea and jungle, away from the city hustle. The only sound you hear are the sea waves and birds. The room was spacious and comfortable, the patio with kitchen was a huge plus, especially during rainy days. We loved that they changed our bed sheets every 2 days, which nowadays doesn't happen even in 4 or 5-star hotels. Nadia and Salvatore go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. They gave us a lot of tips for our tours and ways to explore the island. I can definitely recommend this place and would book it again!

All come with garden views, while some units feature bay views. Very nice location and surroundings, nice activities around to do. The kitchen is very good and all the personal as well.

Arrival & Welcome We were picked up by a private boat and warmly welcomed. The boat ride took around 45 minutes and was truly enjoyable. Along the way, we received interesting information about the surrounding islands – and even spotted dolphins! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a delicious welcome cocktail before our first meal. Such a lovely touch!☀️😍 Room The room was spacious and very comfortable. We’ve seen a lot of bathrooms throughout Panama, and many of them lack a proper shower. But here – the shower was fantastic! Great water pressure and lovely hot water – such a treat. :) Breakfast Breakfast was amazing. The host really listened to our preferences, and I was thrilled to have my fried egg every morning – along with fresh fruit and avocado. A perfect start to the day! Lunch Lunch was absolutely delicious – we had shrimp with coconut rice and plantains. A real taste of local cuisine that felt authentic and lovingly prepared. Dinner The highlight of our meals was definitely pizza night on our last evening! It was such a fun, communal experience with homemade pizza in creative and tasty varieties. So cool – and honestly, unforgettable. Surroundings The water around the property was crystal clear – it felt like swimming in a private aquarium. We saw a small shark, a stingray, colorful fish, and more – all right in front of our room. I’m usually a bit hesitant in the water, but here, I felt completely safe and at ease. The trees, the light, the tranquility – I can’t even describe how beautiful it was. Truly one of my personal highlights – such peace and connection with nature. Activities The hosts’ children were incredibly kind and welcoming.

At the hotel, the rooms have a wardrobe and a balcony with a garden view. The rooms include a private bathroom, a safety deposit box and free WiFi, while some rooms are fitted with a patio and some have sea views. All rooms will provide guests with a fridge. I absolutely loved the spacious bungalow with lots of windows and the big porch, all surrounded by nothing but tropical garden. The houses are far enough from each other so that each one has its privacy. I enjoyed Meghan’s yoga class a lot, the yoga studio in the treetops with ocean view is amazing and I was allowed to use it for my own practice, too. Breakfast and dinner at the beautifully located restaurant was very good, each day different and I liked that it was mainly made with ingredients from the garden. I had a bit of bad luck with the weather but it looked like the reef in front of the property is worth checking out with snorkeling gear which is provided by the hotel as well as kayaks and SUP boards. I thought it was easy to get anywhere by watertaxi and Meghan and Ryan were always happy to help with anything.
