The setting is marvellous. The staff cold not be more friendly, helpful and customer oriented. The cuisine is excellent. And the chef even went the extra mile to cook for us Sri Lankan delicacies, which were not on the menu.

Loved the whole experience- amazing hotel design with great attention to interior detail . Views from the balcony where we were able to relax in comfort, gave us a true flavour of the environment. The room is beautifully decorated, spacious,clean and with an outside patio. Nice bathroom with great amenities. Pity the bath has the jets to serve as a Jacuzzi but only functions as a normal bath. Would have been a nice addition to the room. The staff are very attentive and helpful and we also enjoyed a great dinner. Can say I had the best curry whilst in Sri Lanka at this hotel.

We chose the hotel for its history and great restaurant references. We were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the staff here. In other 5* hotels in Sri Lanka, guests may wear shorts to dinner, but here the dress code is followed, which we were really glad for. The hotel is really representative. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent. I am on a gluten free diet and everything was prepared for me to enjoy. A big thank you to Norbert who looked after us in the restaurant and especially dinner was a real highlight. In the morning we went for a walk among the tea plantations and visited a small tea museum. If we had not booked another hotel for our sightseeing tour of Sri Lanka, we would have stayed another night. We will definitely be back again.
