It's on the expensive side but what you are paying for is the extensive knowledge of the guide on the safari which is missing in other places. We have both learnt a lot about different animals and behaviours on this safari and it's an experience that will stay with us forever

With lake views, Nirvaan Safari Lodge is situated in Wilpattu and has a restaurant, room service, bar, garden, terrace and barbecue. Wow, there are no words for this place. The host Ranil has created an oasis near Wilpattu NP focused on sustainability and responsible tourism. There are only two guest houses and the open hall for gathering and eating. The ambience is very calm and peaceful. But it also feels adventurous sleeping in the tents, knowing that elephants might came to sneak around the neighbouring fields. (We always felt super save because of the locals manning the watch platform during the night and the electro fence). We watched dozens of fire flys and the full moon from our open bathroom area a night. When we arrived on the main road we were picked up by a safari guide whom we booked a full day tour with the next day. Highly recommend that as well. In the evening we talked to Ranil a lot about his projects as a biologist in the park and he gave us a lot of insight into Sri Lanka. Of course my boyfriend loved the dog Kylie. If we ever come back to Sri Lanka we have to come back here.

There is a picnic area and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. The staff were really helpful. Food was amazing. Staff went out of their way to ensure we had the best possible experience.

For the meals only option, safaris could be arranged with the camp directly, at an additional cost to be paid directly to the property. The staff at Big Game was absolutely wonderful. Everybody was very kind and helpful. The camp gives you a real safari experience. The facilities were very nice for a tent camping. We also really enjoyed the daily activities that were scheduled, the romantic apero aside the campfire and the tasty dinner by candle light. We planned our safari with them and got a wonderful guide who taught us everything about the Wilpattu national park and its inhabitants. Would definitely recommend

- Pre-dinner drinks around the campfire and wine (by the glass) during dinner. Such a nice place! Highly recommended if you want take a breake and forget about world for 1/2 nights. Ten was clean and cosy. We ate a delicious dinner in the middle of the forrest at night. Safari was very nice and what it the most important - not as commercial as others. The servise was very good! :)

Decorated in rich and bright orange, all air-conditioned tents feature a spacious verandah with comfortable seating. En suite bathrooms are equipped with a relaxing rainshower. Everything!! No words to describe how beautiful is the resort. It was the best place we stayed for the whole trip. The manager is super kind, the staff always smiling and attentive, the food super tasty and the atmosphere incredible. The rooms are nice and clean, and the furniture well designed. We also enjoyed a really good massage!
