Immaculate, nice lounges & bar, lovely view out of dining room. Room was clean, and cosy. We got upgraded due to Phil and Ness’ (the hosts) kindness, beautiful home made breakfasts, homemade bread and jam. Was made to feel special, highly recommend for adventuring Lynton and the surrounding area.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very knowable about the old building and area. Food was home cooked and presented well. Very good value for. Would highly recommend a stay. Rooms were exceptionally clean and well presented with complementary beverages and health products.

What a fantastic few days we had in there. Absolutely amazing old pub with fab accommodation. Lovely staff, great food, peaceful and quiet.

The Varley House is a little outside of town in a quiet neighborhood. Rod is an attentive host and has an outstanding service from the arrival to special requests, as I wanted to send extra luggage home. The shower was grand, the room is spotless and inviting. I'd definitely stay there again and can warmly recommend.

We were in the small, twin room, but it was bigger than we expected and very comfortable (although the shower cubicle could have been slightly larger). Terence and Piper were excellent hosts and gave us very helpful suggestions for our trip. Breakfast was delicious. Parking was reasonably easy to manage. Easy to walk into the harbour and to the nearby Ilfracombe Lookout.
