There is only 1 main accommodation area and the house has high roof, so it feels very open and spacious for me. Well ventilated with plenty of fresh air and natural light. I loved the feel of a wooden Japanese house. Everything was very clean and cozy. Loved the outdoor kitchen, lovely outdoor cooking experience; and outdoor areas, makes it easy to dry up after a rainy hiking day. The home is well equipped with racks and amenities (washing clothes, cooking). The host was so warm and caring, she checked in with you to provide necessary information on getting around and visiting Yakushima. Ask her about the meaning of the name Tomarigi, it’s very sweet. Thank you so much for my comfortable and close-to-nature stay, I had an amazing time!

An amazing place to stay for a vacation in Yakushima. The location is spectacular with a sea view, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The owners of the hotel are charming and help with everything we need, they helped us perfectly in preparing the visit to the island. Everything about this property is amazing! The building itself is all wood traditional rooms with futon beds. The showers are modern and very nice hot water. There is a kitchen where you can make some food and nice common area you can eat and meet the other guests and the lovely staff. All sparkling clean. The staff are the nicest people you can meet and so very helpful! The location of the property is 5 stars, the Isso beach couple of minutes walk behind the property and the river and the green heels in front of the property. The property has some spaces for parking in front of you rent a car.

Hitomi and Shigeru were amazing hosts ! They also provided a lot of advice on what to do & see and the recommended snorkeling with Manami was a blast ! Delicious breakfast and dinner, nice room and a perfect location in Miyanoura.

Hosts were incredibly kind and hospitable. Despite a language barrier, they asked us what our plans were, whether we needed breakfast or a packed lunch, and they made sure we had the necessary information to plan our trek out to Jōmon Sugi. They also provided tea upon our arrival!

we had a great time and loved the guest house. the room was beautiful and spacious. our hosts were very nice and helped us with everything - even picking us up from a bus station and driving us to the nearest supermarket and ATM as we couldn't rent a car. if you don't have a car you will rely on irregular bus schedules - but that would be true for the whole island. there is a bus stop a couple of minutes away from the guest house - easy to get to. you can have dinner and breakfast for a good price and it was delicious. We would recommend it to everyone!

The whole area is just wonderful and a great starting point for exploring the island. We stayed in a spacious wooden cabin with out own kitchenette and toilet, and we had our own private bathroom with a bath that comfortably fits one person and uncomfortably two. :)) The accommodation is in walking distance from few restaurants and bus stops, but also hidden away in the nature, close to a river. The owner is very nice and hospitable and even picked us up in the city when we first arrived. We had a great time!
