The cleaning ladies came in every day - emptied the bin , cleaned and tidied up where necessary , changed the towels practically every other day and sheets very regularly . What we particularly loved ( and we have never had this in any other accommodation anywhere) is a personal water filter system in our kitchen , therefore saving buying huge bottles of water and having to carry them back from the supermarket . We would also like to mention 2 excellent restaurants a couple of minutes walk from the apartments - Kimbo Lebanese kitchen , which is very reasonably priced , as well as La Payote ( more upmarket but lovely for a special treat ) . We loved the beautiful Mon Choisy public beach which is just under 1k away , as well as the local Cannoniers beach which is nearer .

Dimitri, John and all the staff are amazing people: they helped us if we need (even to organise tours). The rooms are clean and the guesthouse is a relaxing place. Breakfast is very good: crepes, fresh fruits, eggs, bacon and all kinds of specialty. Super recommended :)

Shanti Nivas is the place in Mauritius. A couple of minutes driving from the wonderful beaches of Belle Mare and Palmer beach, this is a great place to enjoy the best of Mauritius in a far more economic way. We had a spacious bedroom with private bathroom and a little kitchen where we could cook our own meals, But Shanti Nivas is a lot more than just a place to stay, this is a place where you feel like home. The host, Mr. jay is a one of a kind master host. He does everything to make you feel at home, and soon he became a friend. Don't expect a 5 stars resort by 1/10 of the price you pay for it in Mauritius, but you can certainly expect a 10 times better service. Thanks Jay, you're the man and you have built a quite unique concept in Mauritius by allowing everyone to have the possibility of visit the wonderful Mauritius with a limited budged. I cannot recommend enough your place to anyone who always dreamed to visit Mauritius but couldn't afford the extremely expensive hotels.

The hosts were so friendly and considerate bringing me treats on my birthday as well as cooking a homemade traditional Mauritian meal. They allowed us to make use of the washing machine and detergent free of charge. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back. Thank you for being kind, thoughtful hosts.
