we didn’t quite know what to expect. I think the listing suffers a little from being lost in translation. So, it’s an entire apartment- 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a well stocked kitchen, a living room, and a cosy little outside area with a table and 2 chairs. The apartment is in such a quiet part of the island, the silence at night is blissful! it’s a 30 minute walk down a footpath to the lighthouse- there is a cafe on the way. there is also a fantastic restaurant- O Farolam- 500m away. In hindsight, we would have stayed longer.

Situated in a restored 18th-century home, Casa Da Piedade offers a lounge with fireplace, outdoor garden with barbecue and brightly decorated rooms. Wi-Fi and parking are free.

The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the nice breakfast spread which was made vegetarian upon our request and the beautiful garden and views. The atmosphere was very peaceful and we would be happy to return any time.

Location is so lovely, I think photos don’t do it justice, it is so much better. And the host has been extremely inviting.

Amazing place! A true Madeirian treasure of the north! We loved our stay there. The owners and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is exquisite! Most of the things they grow in their own garden. After all day of walking around the island, at the end of the day you feel like coming home.

It's a nice apartment on the lower part of Prazeres. You will have a view on the sea and on some parts of the mountains. Lucky, there's a parking lot right next to the house and you only need 8 minute by foot to the next supermarket and pizza restaurant. The owner is very friendly and I was greeted with a clean apartment. There's a kitchen but it's only missing an oven. On the other hand, there are 2 big bedrooms, each with an own bathroom (shower and bathtubs). From there you reach Funchal within 45 minutes by car and the streets are in good condition. I made some hikes in the area and if you're not with a car, taxi (Bolt) there is no problem. Be careful about bus stops as I had trouble to find them. Overall I enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to everyone who likes to have a quiet environment and a more rural experience. For a more organised daily life, a clothes rack at the entrance would be nice so I don't need to put my jacket away in the bedroom.

The View has a gorgeous view and the people were wonderful. The room was quite spacious and we loved our balcony seating in the evening. There is also rooftop seating and other space to relax. The facility is quite comfortable.
