There was a convenience store across the street. The best part of the stay was Rosario's friendliness, along with Ms. Martha (? - I think that was her name?). They gave us a lot of care and excellent recommendations on things to see, places to eat, transportation, etc. They are great ambassadors for Cartagena!

The location of the Hostel is ideal for snorkeling and diving short courses. The view is amazing, the staff are so friendly & food is good! I highly suggest staying here as you get to be on the island with the real locals, but you can get to other islands/beaches by a boat they organize for you. It''s super safe too.

We also met a lot of great people here and the owners and staff were great as well. The only thing to note is that you need to take an uber or taxi downtown it you want to go there, but that is very cheap and we knew this beforehand.
