Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). It has a beautiful Japanese garden and a large living room, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our friendly mascot cat will welcome you! I thought this would be just a nice sleepover place and nothing more but it is so beautiful and has a very unique traditional feel that it made our stay on the island so much better. You even get free breakfast/dinner if you don't have time to eat outside and depart early in the morning/ don't manage to fetch a table in a reataurant in the evening because there is limited amount of restaurants that are open in late evening or early morning. The whole house is very authentic and the family that runs the place also offers a little souvenir shop with super cheap prices of local souvenirs, some even locally handmade. Thr staff is super nice and the xommom areas welcoming to spend the evenings in game/living room. Also had beautiful garden and amazing views from the rooms right on the sea

Convenient location. Taka was very helpful for organizing things (luggage transfer) and gave me very good advice for diner / sunset / breakfast. bathsuits washed for free :) It is possible to park bikes inside, even if it’s not really needed. I have also appreciated the way and style this place has been recently refurbished. Our room was close to the road but there are just a few cars at night and we slept well.

When he learned my name is Kiwi, he looked astonished. When I showed him my kiwi bird profile picture, we high-fived excitedly! What a wonderful coincidence! He kept showing me the New Zealand elements in the house, and there were really many!

Lots of Detective Conan goods displayed as well as the hosts' handmade washi/cloth lamps. Rooms and facilities clean and well maintained. Location is convenient as Detective Conan tourist spots, convenience store and dining options are all accessible by foot. Hosts went above and beyond with their service, including a free optional tea class with sensei as well as transport back to the station at the end of the stay. Thank you for the sweet potatoes for the trip back!
