-convenient location Takaoka Station about 7 mins walk Restaurants about 3 mins walk (options limited though) Supermarket to buy ingredients about 10 mins walk -toilet and bathroom very clean, with a bath tub -kitchen utensils enough for cooking (pot, fry pan, knives, rice cooker, kettle, plates, bowls, cups) ☆my family appreciate this a lot! It didn't provide seasoning or oil though.You can go to the nearby supermarket for shopping. -a washing machine -beautiful old Japanese style house with comfortable tatami. Some comments here said there were dusts, but I found none during my stay. It was very clean.

This is an extremely beautiful machiya. The rooms, the bathroom and the kitchen were very well equipped and decorated. The machiya is also located in a walking distance from the train station and the most popular tourist points of interest (e.g. the castle, Kenrokuen, Oumichou Market etc.). This was an ideal stay, I have nothing to point out :)

A unique, one of a kind samurai house that has to be experienced to be believed. It’s full of atmosphere, history and treasure. As well as that, a comfortable stay and good night’s sleep! Hitty was an incredible host, he let us in early, and then even drove us to the gardens in his car! An amazing stay overall.

Location, quiet, great facilities. Easy to walk to all the sights.. easy 30 minute walk along river to train station. Many restaurants nearby. Great little corner store within 50m. Bakery next door! Coffee beans and grinder provided. Thank you Michio for pick up from station on arrival.

This property was great! Such a good blend of traditional and modern with great touches.
