Homestays in Ouidah

If you stop over in Ouidah, and I recommend you do instead of going on an overpriced tour, stay with Layo! He is an incredibly friendly and helpful person, plus he is a guide in the museum for contemporary art. He helped me get the transportation to Abomey, find my way around town, and even gave me a little tour in the museum. So first big plus for staff. The house is located close to the main sites, this being the museum and the temple of the pythons (tourist trap). You can easily walk everywhere. No worries, it is save and quiet, even at night. The neighbours always greeted me, so no problem with the area. The house is nicely decorated and the room was spaceous and well furnished. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom among the better in this area of the world. And all that for a pretty good price for Benin. A perfect combination of home stay, comfort, location, and price.

Location is really really nice.. Very nice host and he speaks good English, always very helpful to help us, taxi price, where to eat or recommend good place to visit in Ouidah, very very nice and easygoing like friends. Best place where we stay in Benin. High recommend.

Really lovely and quiet, friendly and helpful staff! Its a bit like glamping, and with the mosquito net and fan we slept really well!
