I like its location within easy walk to the village and shops and restaurants and activities but right by the Caribbean Sea so a nice breeze in the humidity . My room was large , air conditioned and clean and facing the sea which was great and I was given a hammock to use which was so nice . The staff were friendly and really helpful . Loved it here.

The hotel is small, clean and very nicely decorated. Air conditioning and Wi-Fi were working alright. The breakfast was nice compared to other options in Costa Rica. I was especially happy with the very nice receptionist, Carmen, who went out of her way to provide us with the best recommendations on what to do in Tortuguero and where to book it. Also, the location of the hotel is ideal as a starting point for tours, exploring the Parque National or just visiting a restaurant or a soda. (By contrast, if you stay in San Francisco, you will need a boat ride for almost everything.)

We spent only 1 night to do a night tour. The room was very nice, super clean, with AC, which was so important as it was too hot outside. The house is just in front of the sea so you can hear at night the sound of the waves, it was so relaxing. Also, in the room there were coffee, tea, and some candies. We really loved our stay here. Thank you!

The host was absolutely outstanding! I booked this hostel 15 minutes before we turned up as the place we arrived at beforehand was covered in bedbugs. Jose was able to accommodate 14 people at the drop of a hat as he has just refurbished and renovated the hostel. The showers were brilliant, the guest space was huge. Coffee and tea facilities available all day. Several fans in the room. Washing service available. Jose couldn’t do enough for us!

Hugo the host was excellent, helping to arrange arrival by boat and then various excursions. The accommodation was of a high standard / modern and I have no trouble in recommending .... and I am a fussy person. I would also recommend the guided night walk Hugo arranged with Bernardo. It was fascinating and we saw so much wildlife that we wouldn't have seen without his expert knowledge.
