When we arrived and I asked if they had a carpet free room because I had had asthma problems at our previous hotel, they could offer us a beautiful wood-floored room at an extra price, but it was definitely worth it. I loved the multiple kinds of fresh cut-up fruit at breakfast. Breakfast, though not a cooked breakfast, was ample and delicious. The B&B is a few steps from the bus stop where all the buses stop to go all over the Lake District. Staff friendly and helpful.

The hosts, Adie & Mandy are fantastic - so happy to share recommendations of places to visit, where to eat etc. Our room was very comfortable & had everything you could possibly need. The whole place is spotlessly clean and the breakfast is truly amazing- such a great choice & everything is cooked to order, so perfectly fresh. The location is ideal as you’re just off the main road, so easy to walk to the shops & restaurants but far enough away to enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep Would have no hesitation in recommending Brantfell House if you’re looking to stay in Ambleside

Beautiful spacious dinning room for breakfast with spectacular archly carved windows. Great food and amazing service. We travel with a dog so we got room with separated entry therefore we could avoid walking through the main reception and hallway, it makes walking out your dog very easy. Centre of Ambleside it few minutes walk away. Owner recommended great restaurant for dinner and we weren’t disappointed so truly felt like home to me.
